You could always seal your case watertight and fill it with motor oil for that l33t look... "gee pj, your computer is completely silent, AND overclocked?!?! What'd you do?" "Oh, yeah, that... I filled the case with motor oil."(utvolpj @ Mar 12 said:They make great systems but their desktops are WAY overpriced. You could save 25-50% if you built your own.
As for the notebooks, it depends on what you would use it for. For heavy gaming I'd say go for it if you got the $$. However, you can usually pick up some really good coupons on the Dell systems and save a lot. I have an HP laptop that I like but I really like tinkering w/ my computers so it's mainly for work. Getting ready to watercool my desktop! :matrix: It's getting to be an expensive hobby.

:biggrin2:
I saw them do the veg oil on Tom's Hardware... motor oil would have definitely been better... for one, for the smell... but I couldn't imagine having to drain it and replace any components.(utvolpj @ Mar 18 said:Don't make fun and use geek speak in the same sentence! My OC is pretty good but my comp sounds like a weed-eater sitting on my desk. Never seen a motor oil one but I've seen one in veg. oil. Can get smelly. I will be making it glow orange though!
