Taking place between Covenant and the original Alien film, the show is the brainchild of TV genius/creator Noah Hawley of Legion and Fargo fame.

I have seen the first episode and it does not disappoint, drips with Hawley's signature style and yet pays proper homage to Ridley Scott's universe.

Excited for the rest!

watching now, starting to get my hopes up.

Scott started liking the smell of his own farts too much for my taste and I'm hoping someone can rope some coherence back into the franchise

holy **** episode 5

I was hoping we'd get a full on Alien flashback to the ship. Glad they gave it a full episode. I'm definitely enjoying the show but I admit to checking out sometimes when the earth-robot-kids stuff is going on. Needed that kind of episode.

ALT J needle drop in episode 6 was too damn cool
I'd actually started almost looking forward to the end song just to see what they come up with after ep 1 outroed with Mob Rules.

Having said that this is one of the biggest shows I've followed where I have to consistently remind myself "just let it go, just let it happen" regarding stupid. Despite Aliens being one of my very favorite movies I can still, after who knows how many viewings, sigh when everybody, everybody just abandons the Sulaco in orbit to go down on the drop ship. Then, after a combat drop of the team the drop ship, in a known threat area (the existence of the xenos is fully confirmed at this point) instead of being on station apparently lands so Spunkmeyer can go rub one out leaving the bay open. C'mon.

I knew we were in contrivance trouble when the Maginot, even setting aside it probably should have burned up in the atmosphere given the supposed issues, just kinda skips over a few buildings and settles largely intact into a building despite actually having forward thrust engines engaged even after the crash. (sigh)

Just to keep some of it positive I am interested in how they treat the OctoEye story. They're clearly setting that up as an actual alien intellect but to what end who knows. Wondering who it is that Kavalier picked out in his head to hook up with OctoEye that would allow for better interaction. Since they made a point about recovering Arthur's body I'm thinking he's a likely candidate. Also Kirsh is clearly up to something but we don't know what. (Plus I'm just an Olyphant fan anyway)

Hermit

Kirsh was up to something. He was trapping Morrow. Are you saying you have reason to believe he's up to something else? What'd I miss?
