Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

What's scary is these people are actually being elected. Just 15-20 years ago they would have been laughed out of the race and would only have got minimal votes.

Something changed during the previous administration that let these people's thinking become more mainstream. I guess that's what he meant by "Fundamentally changing the country"?
They're all on dope. :)

So are you calling for ending all current socialist activities in the US or you're simply against certain ones?

What individual liberties of yours are currently being threatened? You also seen to be confusing communism and socialism
More spending=more taxes=less money for me to live my life, personal freedoms restricted by too many taxes

More spending=more debt=less financial stability for this country=more risk=less personal security

All of those happen under our current govt system

Yup. Because we have largely gone beyond the scope of the Constitution.

Military spending is largely due to all the non defense related items. Social spending is not at all part of the constitution. Those two things would chop down our budget by 50%

And both of those are the crown jewels of each party so they go nowhere. Last guy I voted for wanted 43% cuts across the board and he was ridiculed. Makes perfect sense why given what we now know about the electorate

Yup. It's part of why I am against the system.

Agreed. There are a couple things I would take to zero. Foreign aid and subsidies could largely get dropped. A lot of welfare too. SS can stay because it's currently not a problem and is actually helping, until 2034 which means it's at least 75 years ahead of everyone else.

Gary Johnson thanks you, and Donald Trump thanks you for not voting for Hillary.

The government shouldn't be in the business of funding anything other than infrastructure, public safety and national defense.

People whine about the two party system and then don't have the testicular fortitude to vote for a third party candidate. It's fascinating since Gary Johnson is far more of a fiscal conservative than trump, but then again - so was trumps predecessor.

Interesting ... who is your 3rd party pick for 2020?

What I see, and I'm surrre this is just a local phenomenon, is that kids have been replaced by migrants to do the "getting your hands dirty". But, this is what the kids are learning.

What would be an example of "dirty work" that you are referring to?

Just because we are talking about spending, i am working a federal project right now. They send us gobs of documents via pdf. Including a summary page. First task is to send them an email summarizing (listing) the things they sent us.

Gary Johnson was too f*****g weird to get elected. The Libertarians need to come up with a different messenger. The Aleppo thing didn't help him any either. Not that it really makes a difference that he wasn't familiar with it, but it gave the media a chance to rake him over the coals.
