I used to think memes were funny, now i think the memes are creating a wider disconnect from reality than is realized. Far too many folks literally believe what they see in these memes as fact, no further investigation warranted. That'd take effort.

I believe that the discord they sow over time has an effect, whether it translates to affecting the outcome - who could be sure? I know that the political memes are inherently divisive, that's kind of the point - to make fun of your opponent. To take cheap shots without regard to exaggeration or fact.

Lines of truth and BS are easily blurred when you despise your opponent - the bs that resides on the fringes of truth is easy to swallow.
