Do you have a smart speaker?
What do you use it for?
Any cool tips or tricks?

I’ll start
I have an old Echo and I pretty much just use it as a timer when cooking or to check on the weather.

We have one in the kitchen. We also use for a timer and check the weather. Sometimes during drinks after dinner we'll use it to play Song Quiz. I'll ask it random questions (can dogs eat X, how do you spell X, define X, etc)

We have 3 Alexa's. One old and 2 with the screen.

The old one I use for sleep noises and random info.

The other 2 we use for weather, music, recipes, general info and sleep noises etc.

I like that the one's with screens pick up my wife's pictures from her phone gallery. This is also kind of worrisome because it makes me wonder what all info do they have access to ??

Wife uses the Alexa I bought her for Christmas mostly for video display of photos and for playing music while she's working out. I use Siri for dumb/lazy stuff like checking for latest scores or to call someone lol

I do not use any of them and never will. I do not really want Google or Amazon or Apple listening to my every word.
....and you want everyone to know. Do you also go to Miley Cyrus concerts and tell everyone you hate her music too? Was this really a relevant post?

I use mine all the time. It's pretty handy for pretty much any info in any situation. Having to just speak imstead of physically look up certain things is such a time saver. Everything being sync'd (phone tv pc) is a godsend nowdays.

My kids really use it a lot. They set timers, alarms and use it for lots of questions. My oldest uses it as a dictionary while reading so he can define words he doesn't understand. He also wakes up and asks who won the game since most go so late. Youngest uses his mostly for music

I have never heard a Miley Cyrus song. But I am sure you have all of them. Again, I don't and won't use those applications for the reason I stated. You go ahead though if you feel safe doing it.

Just curious, what do you think is the worst that could happen?

I bought WiFi plugs. Alexa now turns on/off lamps. Also used it for Christmas tree/lights.

Really thinking about going full sloth and getting WiFi light switches so I don’t have to get out of the recliner.

Have two echos. One up stairs and down stairs. I have some smart lights connected to I will use it to turn them on/off. Also use it like an intercom to tell kids to come eat or whatever. But mostly the kids use them to play music and ask random questions.

I use Siri to set timers and alarms. Occasionally ask a simple question.

That’s about it.

Those devices listen to everything you say. That is the worst that could happen. It tailors advertising toward your conversation. I don't know if you have kids, but if you do, would you want ads for things you talk about with other adults showing up when your kids are on the computer? I don't.

I guess not. I dont have kids and I'm not doing anything illegal so I don't really care who/what is listening.
