Albert Haynesworth says...

Um no. Gruden makes about 12 annually - and works 20 hours a week for 4 months. Not going to happen.

6.5 milll actually per the mothership. And with their recent dump of high paid employees and hiring of much cheaper options (Rex Ryan and Chip Kelly), it would make sense for him to jump as ESPN might want it.

Only way I can read this is that Fulmer will be named interim HC. He's the only person/reason I can imagine for Al getting that publicly excited.

Based on his past tweets he favors one man. Tee Martin. I think it is very unlikely but out of all the coaches that would be first a first time head coach, I would be most excited about if it did happen.

Love Tee but want someone with a history of winning in a power 5 conference as a head coach.

The irony here is that the Haslam family has played a major role in running this football program in to the ground. Wish they would stay on the academic side.

I'm somewhat tired of hearing about the Haslams (or any boosters) either "saving" a program, or "running" a program.

One of the key goals of any fund-raising effort should be to develop a wide enough diversity of donors that one donor cannot call the shots.

But, as always, I'm too idealistic when it comes to college athletics. I need to turn up my cycnicism control, and ignore my disgust meter.

All about the buyout with Butch and Currie. Seems to have agreed on a mutual Lump sum at one time and not over several years. Looks like we are just paying what his salary would have been the next 2 years. Cut the buyout in half and according to Haynesworth tweet...Haslam took care of the bill.

That does not make sense. The buyout is $2 mil per year for 3 years. Why would we pay $8.2 mil for two years? His current salary is $4.1 mil per year IIRC.

Who is available (and realistic) who fits this description? This is an honest question.

Mullen
Miles
Petrino - although I’m starting to sour on this one
Kelly - long shot
Stoops - like U. Meyer, I’m not totally convinced he’s committed to retirement

Kelly & Stoops is the only ones on the list that have the best chance to succeed here.

Miles still has to prove to me that he’s willing to change this time and stop being so stubborn like Butch.

Exactly! There are VFLS that have good relationships with boosters. My observance is that boosters couldn't trust Haynesworth to act responsibly with private information. This proves it. My guess Albert is hopes and dreams of same things we all think which is inevitable that Butch will be let go at seasons end or sooner.

Hate on Haynesworth for his actions as an adult but he does love his Alma Mater VFL style...I respect only that of him.

And for Grumor sake...Finebaum mentioned talking with Pilot people (as the caller brought up) that they were going after him first....that could mean the Haslams have worked a Grumor in to real HC...there it is Gruden is coming!!!

Tennessee will not hire a coach who has never coached in college. They may be stupid but not that stupid.

I'm new so you can take my word with a grain of salt but after speaking to a few boosters. At the dinner after SC I heard the deal was finalized at 7.5 and Gruden agreed

Forgive us if we don't trust someone named Hamilton in regards to the goings-on in the UTAD.

I'll throw this in just for fun's sake. I got a text from a friend that works for UT on Tuesday and is no way connected to athletics dept and said the rumor was going around that Haslems had worked out the buyout for Butch and that he would step down after this weekend and Fulmer would come in and be the interim for the remainder of the season. I dismissed it as total BS but starting to wonder just a little bit.
