And here comes the hate and vitriol for former Vol Albert Haynesworth. Ought to be good.....

Fulmer had his heart ripped out again. Football would have been in good hands with his hire.

And now we find out, according to Hyams, that the committee let Fulmer know he had the job - only to be overruled by the new chancellor.

And they give the job instead to Currie, the man who stabbed Fulmer in the back in 2008 by pushing for him to be fired.

So lets recap - the committee, who know 100 times more about football than new chancellor Beverly J. Davenport ever will, wanted Fulmer to be AD. And her brilliant football mind led her to say no.

So yeah, they ripped Fulmers heart out.

And the person at the top is not making decisions that are in the best interests of the program.

Our future is less bright today than it was 2 days ago.

What if the new AD brought Fulmer in in some capacity (as many said that Blackburn would if hired)?

As far as I know, nobody has said that that is out of the question (though it may well be)

I don't think they get along since Currie was involved in removing Fulmer

the football program brings in all the money. and the fans pay that money do we not. what about the person we want.she just gave us the middle finger. what happens next year when Jones craps his pants. she knows nothing about football or Tennessee . the person that made that hire needs to go along with her. no matter the cost

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but if I need a job done, one of the main attributes I research is experience.

We were laughing when Kiffin was hired by Bama. He beat the crap out of everybody when he was down there. K-state just thinks change is good and they have a shot at being relevant again. This is a great hire on paper. It's like Blackburn but with experience at a P5 school.

He is speaking out as a former player who loves his coach. You can't fault a guy for that. I might not agree with his assessment, but you have to respect the guy who loves his coach that much.

Most fanbases will appear happy when an AD is changed. Most do not understand what an AD even does and they place irrational blame on them. Dave Hart was a decent AD, but you would never know it by reading VN.

I remember AH, he had trouble with weight and attitude in the NFL. I believe CPF burnt some bridges as well when he left, and to be honest.........he did get lazy on the recruiting side and preparation, heck, he fired his two OCs and used them as the reason UT was slipping, I think Randy S. might have some interesting comments. If anyone feels entitled, I think CPF got that running out his ears. That is just me.

Every single one? Really? If Athletic Departments were run on the whims of fans, then nothing would get done. Have a little perspective.

I think that might be a bit of overexageration, but either way, time will time how he does here.

Lot of factors at play. Maybe he didn't fit in well with the culture there. Who knows? I know I probably wouldn't love it in kansas...

Not surprised by this and I'd expect more of it from Fulmer era players unless Fulmer comes out and gives a full throated endorsement of Currie. I think it's a rather mysterious hire that could bode a lot of ways. One way to look at this is they wanted to bring in a cold blooded hatchet man knowing that three of the top 4 sports in the department could be in for changes at the top.
