On sporting news radio with Monte, Albert Haynesworth was discussing leaving the state of Tennessee he stated..."I will keep my home, my life, my kids, all in Knoxville. Who knows maybe after I'm done in the NFL, I can come back to my first love and coach at the University of Tennessee."

How awesome would that be if we end up with both Al Wilson and Al Haynesworth on the defensive staff!!!

That would be pretty impressive, why not learn from the best, but that would mean we would most likely no longer have Orgeron.

He has a long uphill battle in the court of public opinion because of the head stomp. That's not really something you want on a coach's resume... he will have to overcome it with years of better behavior. That being said, I love his sentiments about Knoxville and the program.

I would not chose him to be a coach. He doesn't compare to Wilson as a person in my opinion. (Hey General Jack, lol).

People put too much stock into one event. You all act like that head stomp defines Haynesworth as a man.

He would be one hell of a recruiter. With his new contract, he's more likely to retire to his own private island though.

I think about 9 defensive starters that year went to the NFL. Also, we had Travis Stephens, Jason Witten, Donte Stallworth, Kelly Washington, a couple of NFL O-linemen and a pretty decent college QB.

Makes me sick to think about.

I am firmly behind the Titans not ending up in that $100 million salary zipcode for Albert, but if he wants to come back and coach at UT I'd be in favor of it. If you are a big ugly on the d-line in high school with $$ signs in your dreams, what more inspiration do you want?

its not just a headstomp that he has to worry about now, he has hit and run charge on him now that left the man he hit still in the hospital since Dec im prettty sure.

He wants to keep his residence in TN for personal reasons I am sure but also his tax bite will be much less here as well.

I like to see any of our past athletes comment positively about UT in public. It's nice to see. We didn't win anything with them on the D-line thanks to a backup QB at LSU running QB draw plays that everyone (including the announcers) except for our defensive coaches knew was coming. Still have nightmares from that game. I think that team could have hung with Miami in the NC game that year.

That loss in the SEC Championship game against LSU was the beginning of the decline of our beloved program. We never recovered from that loss.

I doubt Orgeron will still be here when Haynesworth retires from the NFL anyway.

He just signed a 7 year contract. Doubtful, IMO, this staff is together then.
