Alabama Wasn't Allowed To Recruit Tee Martin

But he did say, Rocky Top is still his song.

Yep..would love to USC stomp them....they are an 11 point underdog though

The Mobile radio hosts played the USC fight song before Martin was introduced on to the show, but Martin made it clear which college tune stands at the top of his list.

“Man, come on, now,” Martin said. “I’m a Volunteer, man, so Rocky Top is my song. USC is probably, like these guys said, one of the best, most recognizable fight songs in all of college football. Both are favorites of mine.”

With Tee, I'm glad he was here as a VFL player but not sure I would ever want him back as a coach. He had his chance.

I'm fine if he's the next OC. Doubt it would happen but if it did I would be fine with it.

Sometimes love is a powerful thing my friend. I have done some uncharacteristic things for the love of the opposite sex. I'm pretty sure his wife had a say in his final decision on that.

I don't understand

So Lane Kiffin was the head coach at Southern Cal. He lost his job. He was hired to be the offensive coordinator at Alabama. And now Tee is saying that Kiffin and Alabama are being accused of taking Southern Cal's techniques?

Wouldn't "what we do here at Southern Cal" be what Kiffin did at Southern Cal, which he developed alongside Sarkisian and implemented while working as assistants at Southern Cal years ago?

I guess I just don't see how that's even remotely a talking point. Like is "Offensive Coordinator Brings Previous Schemes and Techniques to New Job" really a shock?

Not a shock. I do find it interesting how much freedom Tee says Saban gave Kiffin to modify Bama's offense.

Why would you throw in the word "accused". Tee was just stating facts and you make it out to sound like he's claiming something shady took place. That wasn't what he said.

If I hired an Offensive Coordinator, I would expect him to bring new ideas for my offense. I think it was a great move by Saban.

He didn't have a chance. The interview with Butch was phony. Azzanni already had the job locked up.

When Debord demands a luxury hoveround that's when we let him go and bring Tee in to be OC.

I need to submit my application for that vacant AD position we got at the moment.

An improper contact by an Alabama assistant coach at a camp, inadvertent as it was, resulted in the Tide being dealt the penalty of not being allowed to recruit Martin.

Jerry Sandusky worked for Alabama???

Kiffin is a lot of sh***y things, but Offensive Coordinator isn't one of them. I'd give him full control of my offense, too.

I don't know. He's obviously a pretty solid coordinator. But I'd like to see what he would do without 5 stars all over the field. It wasn't that long ago Bama fans wanted his head on a stick.

I don't blame Tee for choosing his path from a career standpoint. Tennessee was in horrible shape and that could have been career suicide had he chose to come here. The guy is all Big Orange. More so than any of us on here are........

Alabama not being able to recruit him was just Alabama being Alabama. Inadvertent my ass........ they just thought they could get away with it.

That's what I thought when I read that.
