Just heard on the Erik Ainge show that if Bama meets Notre Dame, Alabama is picked to win by 14. I personally think it will be a total blow out. Go SEC

This happens if the Irish can knock off USC, and I'm skeptical of that for some reason.

Notre Dame vs. Bama might be closer than people think. The ND defensive front seven is legit, and McCarron may be suspect. But who knows.

Only SEC team in contention I could stand rooting for would be Georgia, and that's because there's not enough for me to dislike them on the same level as Alabama/UF. Rooting for a Georgia/Oregon national title game.

Thats funny Notre Dame SOS is 17th out 125 teams...every team they played was in a BCS conference only navy and BYU weren't but they're D1 independants

Stanford and Oklahoma will be the only two teams to finish in the top 25 that ND beat. And one of those was really a lose.

SOS measures everyone on your schedule and being that at 17 means you played a good one it doesn't matter where teams are finished in the top 25

Both of them will finish in the Top 15. Alabama has only beaten one team that is currently in the Top 15.

I can't stomach a Notre Dame victory. They played a joke of a schedule.

Compared to who? Alabama? ND has wins over three Top 25 teams (two in the Top 15); Alabama has two wins over Top 25 teams.

But, then again, Alabama chose to play Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, and Western Carolina this season...

Besides Oklahoma and Stanford, they didn't really play that hard of a schedule. They barely beat completely mediocre Michigan and Purdue teams and went nine rounds with a pitiful Pittsburgh squad. Alabama will smoke these guys by a few touchdowns if Nick Saban is given a month to prepare for them.

And to the guy who said Notre Dame has the 17th toughest SOS, please post the link because I see a huge gap between 40 and 17. Alabama is at 5. It even says that we played a tougher schedule than the Fighting Irish.

For the record, I hate both teams. And my God, we need to start winning again. My comment about them has y'all hopping to defend Notre Dame. Even my Big 10 friends agree that they play a pretty easy schedule.

This! Plus, Georgia pulls the upset in the SEC title game.

USC beats Notre Dame.
FSU beats Florida
Oregon St. beats Oregon
UGA beats Bama

K-State v. UGA BCSNCG

That works.

Realistically, though, it will most likely be Bama-ND. But, ND has not played in the heat since mid-September. USC has the athletes to gas ND.

Notre Dame and Alabama both beat Michigan (ND is not an offensive team; they held Michigan to two 4th Quarter FGs and the game was really never in doubt to anyone watching).

Notre Dame beat a good OU team on the road, and a good Stanford team at home (and, the whole, Stanford actually won that game argument is ludicrous; at best, Stanford actually tied that game).

ND has played three Top 25 teams and beat them all. Two of those teams are in the Top 15.

Bama has played three Top 25 teams and lost to one of them (almost lost to LSU, as well). Bama only has one win against a team in the Top 15. Moreover, while ND scheduled Navy, Pitt, BC, and Wake, they did not schedule WKU, FAU, and WCU.

Navy, Pitt, and Wake have been respectable at least in one season over the past five. ND couldn't have known that Miami would be terrible when they scheduled that game.

Notre Dame has beaten every team they have played. Did UT deserve to play in the championship game in 1998? UT stumbled into that game after a game that they should have lost to Arkansas and an SEC Championship Game that hung in the balance until late in the 4th Quarter; moreover, UT barely beat an 8-4 Syracuse team in the first game of the season.

Anyone who thinks the SEC is the best conference in the league ought to want a championship game in which the SEC beats a non-SEC team, in order to prove that the SEC is the best conference in the league. The only respectable non-conference opponent that either Bama or UGA have played is Michigan (a team that ND also handled).

I have no problem with Notre Dame making it to the championship game. I think Alabama will handle them easily if they play. I AM rooting for a SEC vs non-SEC title game because the only thing worse than seeing a rival do well is seeing TWO rivals do well.
