Alabama textbook scandal widens

come on, you can do better

I'm not going to make you out to be the mental midget you are.

If you think for a second that Bama is targeted by the NCAA because of their titles won long ago than you need to quit drinking the Busch Lite for tonight and go to bed

well, I was hoping you would say something that made sense. Oh well, guess you can only throw rocks.:search:

just like this textbook crap. blown out of proportion by blowhards who want to make it something it isn't. It will be nothing as well.

2 starting offensive linemen lost playing time over it. The entire athletic department of Alabama is being investigated. I'd say it is a big deal.

*Alert* I'm going to self-report a mistake, the "take yours and beat his" quote was actually Bum Phillips. Sorry about that, thought it was the General.

your previous posts contain nothing to make anybody who cares about facts want to know what you'd say.

you previous posts about violations that don't result in sanctions make anybody who cares about facts not want to care about what you say.

When have I not stated facts? The Bear is dead and was a drunk. UT hasn't ever been caught cheating while on probation. UT has never been caught trying to buy a DT from Memphis.

Sorry to bring to light those facts.

Now run back to your trailer and crack open another Busch Lite while you envision another fictional Championship

by the way justingroves, you're not going to provoke me to act like you and pick out some old Tennessee hero and make mean, pointless statements about them like you are doing about Bama and Bear. I will never take a dead hero and say things like that about him whether he coached or played for the Tide or anyone else. Got it?:shakehead:

It's not mean. It's common knowledge.

It's sad you think of him as a hero. He was a football coach and that's it.

They are still researching to see if this has happened before and if there are these same issues with other students with book scholarships..

At this time, it looks like this is very recent and is not a "systemic" issue.

The kids are at fault.... they know better. All these policies are explained to every student who's on a scholarship that includes books.

However.... there is a very good system of checks and balances that should keep this from ever happening. Some folks in the compliance office didn't do their jobs in ensuring that no one got books they didn't need for their own use.

Once the Ball State issue was "published", someone decided we'd better check our "systems" to make sure that they were working as designed and at that time the discovery was made.

They are still researching to make sure that if this has happened at any other time that we find all of them and report all instances of this at the same time.

Some heads are gonna roll and some players are going to be suspended... whether the suspensions become effective after the investigation is completed or are implemented pre-emptively is up to Mal Moore. The compliance office is in touch with the NCAA to see how to proceed concerning the suspensions..

My assumption would be that the suspensions from competition will be immediate and then either removed or extended after the investigation is over.

Blaming the compliance office is easy....they never should have let this happen... it's there job to prevent this from happening.

However, the players carry the bulk of the guilt. They committed the "crime", had no excuse for not knowing what they did was "stealing" much less that it was against the rules of their scholarships.

At this time it doesn't appear that any money changed hands.... if that's true then that's a huge break for us and the players.

IF money changed hands... the players involved in that are likely "toast".
