Alabama promotes Enos

1. The same people who said Friend didn't want the job and that Pruitt would not promote from within are the same ones who told you Hugh Freeze was done, The President is blocking, Fulmer is blocking.
2. The fans will be happy just to have someone, everyone will act all pissed off until the Tennessee Fund gets some womens chess player to call you and you get all excited and up your donation 10%.

I don't remember who said Freeze was done or if it was the same person/people, but okay. Friend does want it it. Pruitt wants him to have it. Fulmer wants them both to be happy and endorsed it. Its all been set for almost 3 weeks. But they wanna frustrate everyone so we get to the point we won't be mad about it. You could be right, but I don't buy it.

I hope everyone that is bashing CJP for not being able to make this decision (at least the one you want him to make) cease posting for the number of days that you have made a negative post based off of media speculation with absolutely no evidence if he makes a good hire. If he makes a bad hire, I will do the same as I have no more evidence than you; I just like looking at the possibilities rather than wringing my hands and gnashing my teeth over something I enjoy watching, but have no control over.

You mean the ones who rehashing the same old diatribe in thread after thread after thread.......

You don't hire a HS coach as your OC either.

Someone told me they read in JJ Peterson's recruiting thread that we couldn't hire Probst for an on Field position because he was JJ's coach. They said they may have misunderstood. I know nothing about that. Do you or anyone else know anything about this?

IMO that hire can't be made, not even an option.

Have all of you already forgotten how quickly CJP put a staff together last year when he was hired? He pulled together a group of experienced and respected coaches with excellent reputations as recruiters. I don't understand those who think no one wants to come here all of the sudden. I expect that the person who ends up in the the OC role will be the same kind of coach.

With all due respect, it seems like you are remembering Pruitt's hire through orange tinted glasses a bit. Pruitt is a guy who has been hired by already successful programs and he hasn't ran them into the ditch. It's not like people were knocking down his door before we offered, though.

I wonder if Pruitt will call the fans out when about 20k show up for the spring game like he did last year? I doubt it

As to the rules, I have no clue. I just know it would be a terrible look to hire him as an OC. I can see the rest of the SEC telling recruits, "UT is so fed up they had to hire a HS coach, nobody else would work for Pruitt".

He's never held the steering wheel to run a program into the ditch.

Actually it's the opposite. You CAN hire the head coach of a recruit but it has to be for an on the field position. You can't hire one for an off the field position like a consultant or an analyst.

He had to be on the field. Can't be support staff like intern, qc, etc

It is what it is. We have a first time AD, who's hired a first time head coach, and both are trying to manage a major college program. If you don't think there's a LOT of learning on the job going on right now you're crazy.
