I'm still tentative on Crompton. His play in the 4th quarter of the Auburn game throughout the UGA game is promising, but Alabama's defense is on another level. It would be magical if Kiffin's signature win of the 2009 season was against Saban.

If Crompton plays better than he did against Florida where he did not lose us the game, but did not win because of him, then I like our chances.

I'll give Crompton a pass against Alabama. I'll take his performance against USCe as an actual judgment of his progression.

Alabama's D would be tough test for any offense, much less one like ours in its first year in a new system and inconsistencies at all positions except RB. The entire Offense will have to play their best game to stand a chance.

If they do... we might win, but if Crompton, the WRs or the OL have anything short of a perfect game it could get messy.

bama wont score much on our defense, especially if we put together good drives

If the offense plays like they did against UGA then we will keep it close and maybe some how come out with a win.

ok, every game we have played this season, our defensive staff has come up with a great game plan. especially against the spreads we played. Monte is gonna have a game plan for bama, not to mention he has two weeks to build his plan. We keep our defense rested, we win. Because that means we are keeping our defense off the field, and controlling TOP and making good offensive plays.

I think that the biggest benefit of the Georgia game will be that our players will truly believe that they are going to win against Bama.

well after some of stress of the auby loss, this was a very unifying game. i know that UGA was done, might was well start the busses when during that timeout the team was fired up and UGA looked like someone took their chew toy.

seeing coach O with the dlinemen and them laughing when they were done, that shows that this team is whole heartedly with this staff. Granted they were probably laughing because they couldnt understand Coach O but still

Crompton is not the best QB in the SEC and will never be no matter who is coaching Him. He is improving and we should be excited about that even with Alabama coming up. Expecting Him to put this team on his sholder and defeat Bama is unrealistic and unfair. By the way any defeat against ALABAMA is magical

GOOD talent, GOOD coaching, GREAT confidence = Bama. At least the Vols have some momentum toward those attributes going into the game.

IF Crompton carries his performance over, I'm as confident with him as I would be with McElroy. I'd rather have Berry than Arenas.. our defense is better.

Hope I'm not just whistling past the graveyard.

One good game and fans are already capitalizing the "H" in him.

And I've never had a magical feeling in a defeat against UAT.

Its hard to say against BAMA....What I mean is its hard to tell if we were really that bad or just that badly coached the past couple years...BAMA hasnt just impressed me this year....they have a good running game and have for the past couple years...but I have a feeling that they are a bit over rated...just like UGA....if we carry this momentum over we definately have a solid chance...

The Georgia game was promising in that we finally got to see our team perform with a quarterback who successfully executed a game plan. It was nice seeing an offense that had confidence in their quarterback. Tennessee definitely has a bright future if we can nail down a QB.

Wake up everybody. Alabama's defense is a pro defense. They are the best in Kick returns (Arennas?) versus Tennessee dead last in kick off coverage. We cannot be in this game unless we get a kick coverage team. If we can cover kicks and make Bama drive 75-80 yards, I like our chances. But I get sick in my stomack every time we kick the ball. Maybe Monte can coach special teams the next two weeks.
