IMO, Here is the skinny on how to beat BAMMER. The short version of this is NO TURNOVERS, CONTROL TIME OF POSSESSION, GET BALL IN HANDS OF OUR PLAY MAKERS, UTILIZE KISS METHOD, EXECUTE THE SIMPLE PLAYS, AND GROW SOME BALLS AND MAKE SOME 4TH DOWN'S OR FAKE A PUNT WHEN THE GAME DICTATES IT...
LASTLY, LETS HIT THEM IN THE MOUTH AND SEE HOW THEY RESPOND TO ADVERSITY THUS FAR THEY HAVE NOT HAD TO DEAL WITH THAT ASPECT AND WE MUST FORCE SOME TO'S AND "TURN THE TIDE" ON THEM INTO DEER IN THE HEADLIGHT LOOK"...
It all comes down to the fundamentals and execution. If we do that then we can win!!!! We always play them tough no matter how bad our team is and it is in Knoxville people..

GBO.. LETS BEAT THOSE TOOTHLESS WONDERS
MORE IN-DEPTH VERSION:
1. We MUST not turn the ball over at all!!!! This has just killed us in all the loses we have had so far. The TO's have just been back breakers and at crucial times in the games. We must have No interceptions or fumbles in order for us to have a shot to win.
2. We need to use the KISS method. (Keep It Simple Stupid) both on Offense and Defense and don't try and out think ourselves because we are playing Bama and are #1 and have the best defense in the Country so on and so on... The fact of the matter is all we have to do is execute the simplest plays.
A. We must use screens to slow the pass rush and we have to execute with our lineman getting down field and putting some people on their butts.. Our O line is playing well and we have ran the ball pretty well and screens are simple and not that complex just get us some screens for the RB's and WR's and let them find the pay dirt.
B. CP must get the ball utilizing WR screens, reverses, or whatever means necessary. If we can give CP a couple good blocks to get him past the first level then we know what he can do after that. He is dynamic and our best weapon. We force Bama into making mistakes utilizing CP. We must put our players in good situations and in return they must execute and not drop these simple fundamental passes and execute simple blocks and just whip they azz one on one...
C. We must take what the defense gives us and not try and hit a home run on 3rd and 1's. They are well coached and unless it is a complete meltdown they will get deep on us and not allow the big play... Ok, no big deal lets use the DINK AND DUNK plays and hit the back coming out of the back field when nothing is open instead of slinging it out of bounds when big play is not there. The big plays are nice but we are not gonna get those 50 yard plays on every drive. So, we will just execute the simple slant routes, hit the TE across the middle, and throw short passes for quick 5-8 yard gains. Those plays have been available in every game and they EAT UP THE CLOCK, replay the games and look at how much padding is being given to CP and Hunter. The DB's are playing sometimes 15 yards off the line of scrimmage. So we MUST take advantage of what they give us.
3. Ok, this is the most important aspect IMO and everybody that will read this is saying yeah but what about our Defense :banghead2:. They are terrible and can't stop a nose bleed. I agree and the proof is in the pudding but we can make our defense look good by keeping them off the field!! With all the short yardage plays (dink & dunk) it will utilize the clock and the TOP will be controlled by our offense. The less we allow our defense and special teams to be on the field the better chance we have to win. We do have a fairly good offense but get greedy and don't take what is given and we MUST do that against BAMA to have any shot to win. We again cannot have TO's and put our struggling Defense in bad situations.
4. Lastly, we must take some risks and go for it on 4th down, kick an onside kick, fake a punt, or what ever we have to do to KEEP OUR DEFENSE OFF THE FIELD. So the coach needs to have some balls besides, what is the worst that can happen we lose?? We are already accustomed to that and I for one will commend the coach for making some risky calls as he would be attempting to give us a chance to win by doing so. We also must force some TO's and lets see how Bama responds to adversity because they have not had to deal with it at all this year. At-least we have been exposed to adversity and know we can fight back but we CANNOT ALLOW ADVERSITY TO HAPPEN IN THIS GAME IF SO THEN IT IS LIGHTS OUT. THEY ARE TOo GOOD AND WE CANNOT CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR GAINING MOMENTUM AND GIVING THEM POINTS.
