Alabama plotting ways to reach well-protected Ainge

By JOHN ZENOR, AP Sports Writer
October 18, 2007

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Wallace Gilberry has a simple plan for chasing after the hard-to-sack Erik Ainge: Keep trying.

Good plan - as opposed to the alternative of NOT trying!
It's rumored that Ainge is shaking in his cleats..

it will be interesting to see what Saban comes up with from a blitz standpoint to get to him.

and what we have in store to nullify it.

Saban is going to rush all 4 of or db's and drop our 3 lineman back into pass coverage. All 4 linebackers will yell out "SWITCH!!!"

Yeah i'd say eric's plan is to hit the open receiver the blitzing db leaves open, over and over and over. I hope they try to stack the box it will just make it easier. To many bad matchups for the bubba's it could get ugly.

Ainge wasn't the problem in the Florida game. He's solid and experienced and I don't see him turning in a truly bad performance at any point this year.

Chavis had a plan to lose weight.

Georgia had a plan to beat UT.

Ainge will take advantage of the blitz especially if it occurs frequently. Poor Bama.

Who is you pick for our game LAW?

I honestly don't have a real solid feel for the game. I haven't watched Alabama this year and I haven't watched much of UT since ... well, you know. I get the impression that UT is playing a lot better than it did a month ago, but since I don't have an impression of Alabama this year, I can't make much of a pick.

I suppose I am rooting for UT for purposes of the SECE. But really I'm more focused on UF getting back in the win column. We haven't won in almost a month, with the bye week and the two tough losses to Auburn and LSU. That can't be good for the Gators' collective psyche.

Making it a road game doesn't help either. However, UK has to rebound from a triple overtime thriller against the then number one team in the land. I expect a great game. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Florida will drown the wildcats by more than 7. At least that is what I'm betting on:)

Blitzing plays right into our hands. I hope they blitz DB's all day. Ainge is great at getting rid of the ball quickly to the hot receiver and at throwing the fade. Chris Brown will have a field day against lineman dropping into coverage. Also a few screen to Coker will slow down the pass rush. If this is Bama's game plan then this game will get out of hand quickly. Go Big Orange!

While I absolutely love EA and know that he is the most important player on our team this year, the interception in the red zone and the broken finger/back-handed hand off fumble really, really hurt in that game.

That being said the D still did more to lose that game than anything.
