if he leaves because some goobers boo and because fans are disappointed his teams have yet to beat a really good team, then I'm not sure why wr would care. I think we saw a similar mindset with Cuonzo. I almost miss Fulmers approach. He shrugged it off and presumed his critics wrong, and went forward. Im sick of this "running off" garbage. This is a great fanbase that the majority of expected little from this guy until this season. He spouts off about bricks, best coaching staff, process, etc then throws fits when he is exposed as a MAC coach. I dont want him to leave, but if he leaves I literally could not care less. I love Knoxville and Tennessee football and if a guy doesn't have that same affection and wants to leave his bloated salary for another, then, whatever.

For real. Are we forgetting what Stallings did once Curry scooted to Lexington? Youre telling me we're gonna get a great coach and a title? I think I can deal

Around here, we don't compare our coaches to Bear. We might compare them to the Coach that Bryant never beat though ...... how does his record stack up against The General?

My point was that you can't claim Butch will be an 8 win per season coach based on his past record.

Curry was run off or allowed to leave because he 1) couldn't beat Auburn, 2) alienated a lot if not all of the boosters/ former players, and 3) wasn't a Bear Bryant disciple.

I should know. I was a walk on for his last team there in '89. The only guys that he allowed in to practice to watch that had any BAMA ties were some of his former teammates in the NFL. 7-5, 9-3, 10-2 and 1-2 record in bowl games doesn't exactly help matters either.

4 to Bama, 1 to Ark, aTm, Ole Miss, Auburn...

Bama being what they've been...no real sin there. 3 of the other 4 at the time they played all were ranked, and highly regarded. the lone game that you look at and say we could/should have one...Ark last year. so out of those 8, i'd of given him 1 of the 8 as one that i'd of expected to win. and we get LSU next year.

the West is just deep. who's really just sucked the last few years? MSU is the worst team this year and they just beat a top 4 aTm team, but lost to KY...

there's no one in the EAst that's bragging about beating teams from the West these days. so you can call the record out, but as a whole the East sucks playing the west, and there's been 1 game of the 8 that i'd say we should have expected to maybe win, and didn't.

and i don't know that it gets better next year with Bama and LSU on the schedule.

I'm with ya. Liked or tried to like g.d. since he played for lions. J ust got overbearing on specifics like we can't fiqure things out. Brad Nessler called the early game this past week and I got a double dip....his game calling and the Hogs steamrolling them Gators...LMAO getting off topic my bad!

We are 3 coaches away from perhaps reclaiming our traditional status....like all sickos, spoiled azzes in this country, we want it now...shat in one hand and want in the other ! CBJ is close as you gonna get. Can't you self glorified football wizards see that this SEC cut throat league is new to him ? The recent... 2 Bama assistants come into Neyland with Trey Smith on what has to be an unofficial visit. That's cockiness and rubbing our nose in it. Who does this...Lame is my guess. The lowest down S.O.B. in the SEC. Sorry charlie we didn't hire that type this go around. We have a fundamental and basic plan to build a foundation first because a long lasting structure requires one. I can accept that. You don't ever rebuild...you are always reloading. He's doing well based on his past as compared to where he is now and what he's attempting. He ain't providing escorts to our recruits and he is getting players here. As for 8 wins....that's way low as I stated above traditional status which is 10. Hint: works faster with a united fan base !

Tennessee was never 10-2 in the Curry years. You may be thinking of 1989, when we were 11-1 including the bowl.
