He had a lot of success, but was pretty lame. Gene Stallings won a title. Will Tennessee fans do the same to Jones?

Bill Curry didn't get ran off by fans. He turned down an offer from Alabama, because he didn't like many of the provisions in the agreement.

Gary Danielson is such a Bama homer Douche you can't even listen to the game. It's effing deplorable.
Hurts throws pass and ole Gar goes " it takes a Julio Jones type receiver to catch that" as the damn ball flew into the third row! How does CBS pay this tool??

Never heard of a current head coach turning down an offer. How does that work?

I like Jones just fine but if he gets upset with fans who want us to be aggressive and a great not decent team he probably is in the wrong place, conference and area of the country.

Curry was ran off...they even threw a brick through a window of his home

He wouldn't have left of bammer hadn't tendered him a contract that didn't offer a raise and took away his ability to hire staff. Fans didn't run him off

There's a difference between jones and the other two in your post. The obvious one is that both Stallings and Curry consistently won the games they were supposed to win. Curry even beat a 10-2 Tennessee team. It was not close.

No. Bama fans did not run off anyone. Bama boosters maybe, but fans didn't.

The Tennessee fans you speak of can't wipe their own butts with a truckload of Charmin extra soft. Oh, they can makes asses of themselves on radio call in shows, get arrested trying to put realty signs in yards, or call themselves Jimmy Hoffa, Marilyn Monroe, or Charles Manson on an online petition. But if they want to fire a coach, they need to say it with their checkbook.

Now, go back to Fantasy Island, Tattoo. "Ze Plane" should be there anytime.

Fans did kill his dog and hang it on his porch after a loss!

The year Curry was run off, Bama finished the 1989 season with a share of the SEC title, along with Tennessee and Auburn. Bammer fans are freakin' nutz.

Bill Curry won 70% of his SEC games while at Alabama!

Maybe it would be wise to forego any comparisons of CBJ to Curry until he has won 70% of SEC games...wouldn't you think???

Compare CBJ to another Bama Coach.

After their first 10 years of coaching, CBJ has a higher winning percentage than Bear Bryant did.

It seems like a coach may be able to improve over time.

If your measuring stick is wins....Butch is right on track!

WTF is the point of this thread? Bama "fans" in this day and age don't even know that Bill Curry was a coach, much less at bama.
