Alabama Cheapskates

Paid 400 for a pair to the Florida game in 05'. I would have paid double if I knew what the outcome was going to be like.

What do you expect? An Alabama education doesn't mean anything in the job market. Even McDonalds won't hire them.

Are they playing the Super Bowl at Bryant-Denny? You're insane. And, if you aren't, people who pay $1000 for a pair of regular season, upper-deck, college football tickets for a team that went 2-6 in the SEC last year are most certainly insane.

I guess it's called priorities. I mean they are talking about giving $1000 to see a game (that they will lose) but shun aside the chance to give a buck to help tornado victims.

I'd just like to point out that the Alabama spring game was free, and they asked that each fan donate $1 to help the Alabama tornado victims. 1 measly dollar.

$38,000 -- Approximate fan donations to the Enterprise Tornado Relief Fund received by halftime.

Good to see that Alabama fans really opened up their hearts and wallets to their fellow citizens who lost everything.

Cheapskates.

They are still taking donations...feel free to wow us with your generosity.

I went last night to the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game at Turner field. I donated there for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. They raised over $200,000 last night. Bama fans should use these generous fans as an example.

I venture to say if they had an envelope, under a trash can, under the walkway to the East upper deck, labeled "fund to buy a 5-Star Memphis high school defensive lineman" it would have had $200,000 by half time in it!:banghead2:

What cheapscapes!!

Well of course...we'd have to out-bid UT...like we did for Means.:)

Oh now, come on. I'm sure that most people would have donated something if there had been a well-run opportunity to do so. Its the kind of thing where they hit you up for a dollar at the grocery check-out for Jerry's Kids. Just got to make it easy to do. Pedple aren't going to go traipsing all around the stadium looking for the bucket to put the $5 bill in.

Heck, most people probably didn't even know you could donate.

This was a thread started on here by an apparent Tide fan, and he predicted 70k before the game, so I highly doubt and fan who wanted to donate, couldn't. Bama knew there would be a considerable crowd at this game.

Just a case of Alabama being Alabama.

Wrong again Dude, as per usual. United Way was set to have 50 people volunteer to take up donations at all gates to the stadium. Only 20 showed up. I had 20 bucks to donate and never saw one donation place and I looked all over. So I guess you could say it was the VOLUNTEERS fault. As per usual.

The University of Alabama and United Way of West Alabama will raise funds at this Saturday’s Golden Flake A-Day Football Game for disaster relief to aid the citizens of Enterprise, Ala., victimized by a tornado on March 1. The City of Enterprise Tornado Relief Fund will consist of donation stations to be set up at 38 points of entry to Bryant-Denny Stadium during the event. Kickoff of the annual A-Day Game is slated for 1:05 p.m. CST. Admission to the game is free.

I bet it was real, real hard for those Bammers to find one of those 50, errrr 38, errrrr 20 points of entry where donations were being accepted. I have a feeling most Bama fans that wanted to donate could have, they just didn't. Well, guess trailer payment is commin' due!
