I'd just like to point out that the Alabama spring game was free, and they asked that each fan donate $1 to help the Alabama tornado victims. 1 measly dollar.

$38,000 -- Approximate fan donations to the Enterprise Tornado Relief Fund received by halftime.

Good to see that Alabama fans really opened up their hearts and wallets to their fellow citizens who lost everything.

Cheapskates.

well most of them don't have any money. they went to the game hoping to eat the crums of other fans that bought food.

I brought a 20 with me to donate. I went in one gate and out another gate looking for a place. I never saw one and none of the 10 or so people I asked knew where one was. It was a poorly planned out effort on the Red Cross's part, as is usually the case with their efforts.

You better find someone to give that to before you buy your popcorn, hotdogs and Cokecola. Oops...too late. That is what happens in Bama when they put the concessions before the donation buckets.

That sucks. Probably a case lack of volunteers to collect money.

That could be the case. I doubt they planned for 92k to show up and had resources for much less (kinda like the game organizers). Seems like it was a great opportunity that was wasted by the RC than it was cheap bama fans.

Being at the A-Day game and having money prepared to give, I also did not see anyone... Best case scenario by the University was 60K people would show and Mal Moore said that he expected it to be about 45K.... One thing that also must be taken into account is the tornado's struck on March 1st and it is the end of April; the majority of people including myself have already donated.... So its more than being cheap... but i know its all in good hearted fun :) haha... btw it was crazy I would have never expected 92K to show up...

like someone said in another thread, its a sign of desperation. its almost sad that Bama fans have sunk this low. hahah i love it:good!: :the_finger:

Nah... I mean who wouldnt want to see Saban... He is always working and have you heard the guy interact with the media, its insane... Yeah there is a love affair but after all we did have Dubose and Shula... wouldnt you be a little excited. Tickets are going to be a tough find this season thats for sure... Word around ttown on Sat. was Georgia UT and LSU would go for 500-1000 a pair in the Upper Deck...

During Saban's first week, he donated 100K to the school for scholarships for first generation college students. He also has many charities that he and his wife give to.... The donation at A-day was Saban's idea. Crack all you want about the amount but its 38k more than AU raised (they are way closer than ttown to enterprise) and I dont know of many other schools asking people to give for a cause...

Are they playing the Super Bowl at Bryant-Denny? You're insane. And, if you aren't, people who pay $1000 for a pair of regular season, upper-deck, college football tickets for a team that went 2-6 in the SEC last year are most certainly insane.

I most def. agree with you :) haha However the excitement around Bama football is one that I have seen in a long time save the 2005 season which I think surprised just about everyone... I dont expect us to win a championship this year or next... but I do think Saban will win one eventually... that being said, I paid my 450 dollars per ticket for season tickets so I wont be paying that much haha... the most I think I have spent on tickets is 150 a piece for the UT game in 2005

Maybe that will be on SI again w/ the phrase Bama's Back once more, and then have a crap season the next yr once again

I spent $100 for tickets in Gainesville but that's the most.

Well my tide pride donation was 80 dollars and then I paid the price of tickets which ended up being 340 or something like that I cant remember exactly... tickets range from 60 dollars for LSU 55 for UT and UGA 50 for Ark 45 for Houston 40 for West. Carolina, and La Monroe.

I also got FSU tickets for 60 a piece... but all I paid was face value plus tide pride donation

$250/pair in Athens last year has been my most expensive venture. We saw maybe 12 tickets while walking to the stadium. Few, few, few and far between. At Neyland, have never had to go over $75/piece to get extras.

In the past I have overpaid because I want tickets before I head to the game... but on gameday esp as the game is about to start im sure its cheap but Im one of those fans that like all the pregame stuff
