Alabama blocking grad transfer from talking to us

According to this ESPN article just out, Saban has given Brandon Kennedy a release to transfer wherever he wants, and only an SEC waiver is holding the young man up.

Alabama coach Nick Saban tired of taking heat for blocking transfers within SEC

The key quotes:

Believe Saban? Or is he hiding behind the SEC's skirts while secretly withholding a release to other SEC schools?

The school can grant the waiver to transfer w/in the conf. If they won't, the conference has to do it.

If I recall correctly that is...

Edit: charger beat me to it

The article gave the example of Muschamp "not enforcing the rule" and there are several other examples.
If a coach/school chooses to not enforce, there is no issue.

Saban/Bama is the cause and he's wrapping himself in that proverbial skirt like a security blanket.

Exactly right, I listened to his statement on ESPN he is trying to throw all the blame on the SEC, like he did nothing to hinder the transfer.

If this guy has access to the Bama playbooks then he will be an invaluable resource to TN. But my guess is Auburn will be the highest bidder.

That Jones guy working for the Alabama program knows a little about our personnel. And by that I mean very little knowledge.

I’m pretty sure every conference and school does this when it comes to allowing transfers to talk to another school that’s in-conference and on that team’s upcoming schedule. That wouldn’t really make this all that new.

Not really, I know we let Townsend go to FU sand he wasn't even a graduate.

I would like to think our head coach has that knowledge already :p:p:p:p

If a school releases a kid, then he should be released, period is my opinion. He's not a slave. If you don't want him playing somewhere else, keep him on your headcount. Schools should not be able to control a youngster after releasing them IMO.
