But then websites like people of Walmart would run out of material. Double edged sword.

Happens to be more Walmart stores in Tennessee than Alabama. And good lawd, what is with those snake handlers you guys have over in east tennessee?

Of course we have more Walmarts. We have like one and a half times as many people, and more than two times as many teeth. Need more Walmarts here to supply all that additional toothpaste. :)

You ever been to sand mountain in Alabama?

Also try anything between Jasper and Athens, that part of Nortrhern Alabama is like taking a trip through the movie Deliverance for miles and miles and miles. Don't EVER stop for goodness sakes!

The caveat everyone seems to be ignoring is that we are on bama's schedule.

Georgia was not. People keep bringing up the SEC overturning that transfer, but I think this will be looked at differently due to this fact.

I don't think anyone's overlooking that.

It's not like the kid would bring anything to the Vols that our new head coach hasn't already brought.

Former coordinator beats former 2nd string OL by about a ratio of 30 to 1 in the "what's their scheme" department. Right?

Its clear that you have hit about 2% of the area you are talking about here. Similar to anything in East Tennessee.

I don't think that's there concern. Probably has more to do with giving us a player that makes our starting lineup better then having to compete against that player.

Yes, I think you're exactly right. That's the real reason Saban is opposing this player's appeal.

And still, one must ask why. If this young man is only 2nd string on Bama's team, what is there in his move to Tennessee that should cause Nick Saban concern? That we'll be 1% or 2% less far below them in talent than we are now?

The problem is with the rule and not really with what bammer is doing. SEC should continue to take heat over this until they amend the rule.

He is on a year to year scholarship until he graduates or his eligibility expires. Simple, the young man has earned the right to continue his education and play out his remaining eligibility at the school he chooses based on his best interests.

True, but if that is the reason they should have, or there should be a rule, about hiring ex-coaches.

I would have less issues with any of it if it was more consistent.

I think they should just get rid of the rule, it's dumb anyway.

It is all a game, about money, and for most of us football fans winning. Every coach does their best to get that winning edge. When it comes to issues like this, you go to the kangaroo, er NCAA COURT, and try to do what is best for the student athlete that doesn’t significantly change the competitive edge. Most of you agree that this is going to help us with some depth year one. But it isn’t like he’s allowing one of his better starters to change jerseys.
