'26 AL DL Tyson Bacon (Miami commit)

I mean this was expected. Tennessee isn't out of it like with Brandon Anderson. Bacon committed very early and stuck it out during college spring practice. But he's got legit interest from everyone in the country now and it all came in a flash. Understand him wanting to step back and reevaluate his options. He's got official visits next on the schedule
Wiltfong put RPM prediction in for Anderson someone said on here. So props to this staff for completely changing momentum there. Anderson is a pretty good guard

Kudos to you for admitting that whiff
Very happy about it. I thought Max Anderson could be it personally when got him but this OL could definitely use a long-term guard with size, strength, and athleticism. Was hard to tell with Utu bc he didn't post much highlights, but I think Anderson could definitely be that.

Clearly, we've come a long way from Anderson saying he didn't see himself ending up at Tennessee at all in interviews earlier this year

Glad we got Jordan Ross first. He’s gonna be our next superstar 🤞
I was just about to mention Jordan Ross when I saw your post. Also, Squirrel was from the Birmingham area. I know he never really lived up to the potential after his Freshman season and has left for Florida State but he is another recent recruit from that area. Timothy Merritt and Sidney Walton in this past class are also from Alabama. Don't forget Jourdan Thomas is from Alabama, as well. Guys like Vysen Lang and Khalifa Keith didn't pan out and transferred but they were also Alabama kids.

Price said on the last podcast that he doesn't think Jourdan Thomas will play this year.

That situation seems really weird. A non-contact injury away from practice and he misses two years of football, with today's sports medicine available to him? Odd.

It is an odd situation. Dee Beckwith was one that was surprisingly odd, for me, in a different way. That kid was an absolute star player here in Florence and had the size and athletic ability to be a weapon at the college level. Unfortunately, it seems he lacked the toughness and drive to reach his potential.

Incredible damage done to his knee/leg

A bit of a head scratcher on how this staff recruits. Seems like they go all in on one elite recruit then there is a big drop off on the next one on the board. If they miss out on that recruit, they are back at the drawing board. Seems like it would be a wiser strategy to get several top tier recruits at any one position so that you have some back up plans and don't get screwed like we were at safety last year.

sucks but nice to see our staff consistently making the first eval on these guys and other staff following suit

we do land a lot of our early evals but its inevitable this also happens

cant really complain about DL recruiting at all--it's top 5 in the country every year

This kid was an early eval. A 3 star.

We got in early, when he had no hype.

His recruitment doesn’t apply to your logic
