He resigned and will not coach the bowl game. Word is they want Troy St.'s offensive coordinator to implement a spread offense.

That's sudden. Auburn has sucked it up on O this season but damn.

They must have a lot of faith in that Burns kid.

It doesn't do anything to Tennessee's chances. They'll have the whole spring and summer to work it in.

Shoot, I was less concerned about Borges than I was about any other offensive coordinator. If they get a spread offense in place then it could be a long day for our defense.

They don't have the offensive talent to make it work right now.

They have a bunch of TBs and no receivers. It would be Arkansas all over again. Run Run Run Run and then a futile attempt to pass.

While that is true, coaching at a big time school doesn't allow room for excuses for such a declining trend in production. It is what it is. At least at some schools.

:yes: unfortunately for some. there are very few coaches in college football that can take mediocre talent and win anything of signficance in the SEC. the same argument can be made for John Chavis. give him Albert Haynesworth, John Henderson, Darwin Walker, Al Wilson, Deon Grant and he's a great DC. give him this year's D and he should be fired.

is it fair? nope. is it true? well, ask Borges. they really didn't have anyone on the off. side of hte ball that just scared the daylights out of you.

What does it tell us about him that he had the number 1 ranked offense in the SEC the year after RB, CW, and JC left?

But part of that falls under his realm of duties. It is his job to evaluate and sign kids that he feels will succeed.

Borges has been stuck with a terrible QB for the last two years. If Cut leaves, I say get on the phone (simply because as long as CPF is here, we are stuck with plod and trod).

This transition will end up being much more about a scheme change than individual performance.

you can only do what you can do with what you have. this guy was, at one point, credited with turning around Auburn....he was the "next great thing". all the talent goes away, and it is what it is.
