AJC's SEC Prediction

i know i'm a homer, but do these writers honestly believe we have absolutely no talent on this football team? yes, last year, we sucked, but the year before that we played in the SECGC. Do we have more talent then uf, uga or ua? probably not, but we at least have just as much talent as the rest of those "losses".

Another excellent piece of journalism. He picks us to go 5-7 and 4-8 in the same paragraph.

"6. Tennessee: Lane Kiffin is the new coach. He’s a humble sort of fellow. His humility will be tested. He’ll finish 5-7, which is exactly the record that saw Phillip Fulmer shoved out the door. But UT will win on Signing Day, which is all that counts. Regular season: 4-8, losses to UCLA, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky."

I didn't even catch that, quality.......

Maybe he means we'll go to a bowl with a 4-8 record and somehow manage to win the game and have a loss subtracted at the same time.

Totally within the realm of believability.

I'm not even going to waste a "wait til' Eric Berry meets him across the middle" on this hack. Can't wait until Nyshier Oliver meets him across the middle.

I guess somebody told him how stupid he sounded and he changed it to this:

6. Tennessee: Lane Kiffin is the new coach. He’s a humble sort of fellow. His humility will be tested. He’ll finish 4-8, one game worse than in the record that season saw Phillip Fulmer shoved out the door. But UT will win on Signing Day, which is all that counts. Regular season: 4-8, losses to UCLA, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

Yeah, but he's still plain stupid. Just a suck up article for the dawgies.

What are the odds of Tennessee following its worst season ever (in terms of losses), with a season even worse than that? Between nil and none.

We still have top 20 talent, albeit at the bottom of the top 20, and a very well respected coaching staff outside of the HC (who receives less credit than deserved because of his attitude). And 8 games at home.

At the bottom of the article he even tries to justify his mistakes but then makes an even bigger idiot of himself. Bradley is mentally challenged.

(OK, a word from Verne Lundquist: Actually, it’s still me. Due to my periodic bout of temporary insanity, I did not, in the first take of this post, have a winner in the Georgia-Arkansas, Tennessee-Florida or Tennessee-Auburn games. Actually, I had them in my mind, but I neglected to make them show up above. They’re here now — Georgia over Arkansas, which finishes 8-4; Florida over Tennessee, which finishes 4-8 and finishes sixth in the East, and Tennessee over Auburn, which finishes 6-6 but is still bowl-eligible. Thanks to all those who pointed out the omissions/errors. I’m in your debt.)

the AJC...is a joke anyway. I had a situation with one of their writers a while back doing and interview with me. The basis of the interview was in a positive light, but when I read it, it had a negitive spin. Not even close to what was said!

Everybody here always complains that Bradley hates UGA. Everybody always thinks that sportswriters (and announcers, and ESPN) are biased against them.

I agree, but there are one or two that are. The AJC had a sportswriter named Schultz, I believe, who absolutely loathed anything Tennessee, always calling our fan-base hillbillies, the coach "the Great Pumpkin", etc. I exchanged emails with him a couple of times and it became very clear it wasn't an act. He hated the Vols.

He pick Auburn to win 2 more games than us? The team with bigger question marks that Rosie O'Donell? Does he no realize how hard it was for us to go 5-7? How hard it was to throw away the UCLA Aub and Wyoming game? Maybe he's thinking Rich Rod #2? Sorry, but Michigan doesnt have the staff nor the D that he was left. 6-6 minimum.

As a Florida fan, I wouldn't take much of what Mark Bradley says without a bag of salt. He's, to put it kindly, an idiot and his homerism really knows no bounds.

Yeah, I'd agree with you about Jeff Schultz. He does seem to take every shot he can at Tennessee.

The fact that he's usually right about us only makes it more irritating.
