AJC writer picks Tennessee

I think we all need to temper our expectations. Before anyone sacrifices me to the football gods, consider how young and inexperienced the team is. You don't recover from 4 terrible years with two decent years of recruiting.

The last two years of recruiting were only decent to you? Wow!

For the people that are worried about the middle of the defense here is an angle to debate, Imo I think it would be a possibility that JRM moves inside and Cortez McDowell plays on the outside until someone establishes themselves. That is if all the talk about McDowell is accurate about him having the same skill set as JRM but possibly even faster. I would feel comfortable with that, does anyone agree?

Are you sure that AJC writer was not Kirk Herbstreet signing the article as Bradley?! Bless his heart - Herbstreet kept picking us over and over to win the last several years, and we just never came through for him. It was like a relationship he just couldn't get out of. Hopefully he will pick us this year for a big game, and we actually back it up.

Herbstreit -- The Anti-Fowler/Corso ... the only Ohio State player I ever liked (respected others, sure, but not liked).

Yes, I hope they work this out but I am not sure JRM is the answer inside. I think he is a little small to play in the middle and take on the OL. Hopefully I am wrong and JRM or somebody can fill the spot.

This season is hitting a bit of a "sweet spot", in that while we may be a better team next year, we are definitely a solid team at a time where many in out division are not very good. May be time to make some hay.

I hope he can use his speed and high motor to overcome the size difference just long enough to get one of the young guys ready, I am so excited about this season I can't hardly stand it the season can't get here fast enough!

GO VOLS!!!!

:lolabove: No. I have a lot of respect for CBJ though.....just trying to keep grounded and not go off the deep end with the first "L"

No need to temper expectations. We're going to go off the deep end regardless with our first L. I disagree with you too btw. We may be a tad young and inexperienced but compared to our competition we are no younger or more inexperienced than most that we will face. Do we have to wait until we have all five stars and future hall of famers in the 3 deep before we can expect to be competitive?

Nyuk nyuk nyuk!

Over Mark Richt’s 14 seasons in Athens, teams working with a new quarterback have averaged 3.8 regular-season losses. (Richt’s teams with an incumbent have averaged 2.1.) Most of those new quarterbacks — David Greene, D.J. Shockley, Matthew Stafford and Aaron Murray — were a cut above any on this roster, and coordinator Mike Bobo isn’t around to smooth the kinks. I see Georgia losing to Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn — and to someone else simply because Georgia under Richt always loses a game it shouldn’t. But I do think Georgia will beat Tech.

The only part of your statement that I dont agree with is the bold section.

We do need to temper expectations some, however, two top 5 finishes in recruiting is not decent, that's outstanding, especially considering the state our program has been in for 8 years.

I really think we go 8-4 or 9-3. We have too much talent not to.

Temper expectations???

Seriously?

This is VolNation.

We always OVER expect, that's what we do best.

With the first loss out come the over expectors wanting all the coaches fired, all the players will be belittled and some will even want them castrated.

The VN servers will melt down and the Mods will take 2 or 3 days off because nothing they say or do will calm down anyone.

Every play will be disected 27 times and each time a different player will get bashed on even if he was on the sideline.

Even our band will get bashed on for not playing the right music at the right time to get a play made that 17,000 people think should have been made.

Even our cheerleaders will consider transferring to Vanderbilt just so they don't have to fear for their lives when they leave the stadium.

Smokey will consider moving in with UGA just to feel safer for 4 or 5 days.

Temper expectations you say?

That's just not what's done here on VolNation.

For all you new people, fasten your seat belts and WELCOME to our VolNation my friends.

Kirkland will be the answer at MLB if not at the BG game atleast by Oklahoma or Florida.
