AJ Simcox commits to Tennessee

Obviously a rising senior at Farragut and the son of former Tennessee assistant Larry Simcox.

He chose the Vols over South Carolina, Vandy, and UGA.

He is a shortstop at Farragut.

Think the kid will be a top 3 round draft pick depending on his senior season. Will be hard to turn down that money but AJ is obviously in a special situation. A father who played college ball, then minor league ball and then coached at the college level at the hometown team. If he makes it clear to scouts that he is definitely going to college then he will likely drop int he draft 5-6 rounds.

If a first round pick, it's going to take a lot of self control for AJ not to go pro.
