AJ Johnson

Will be one of the greatest players in UT history by the time his career is over (barring major injury ofcourse). This guy has the creative mindset to change the way the linebacker position is played. His thinking on the field is quick and diverse and his instincts are top notch. He reminds me of Rolando McClain.

Easy now

He doesn't compare at all to Hightower at this point. Names are being just thrown out now.

Hightower's read and react skills out of highschool are much better than AJ's. AJ has all the physical tools though and with some coaching has the potential to be great.

Not exactly sure. He lives in an area that has a lot of bama fans and I believe bama was in on him quick.
Tuscaloosa is closer than Knoxville too.

I thought Hightower was the best defensive player in the state that year.

Agreed, I see him more as a Dick Butkus type

Doubt it. Butkus was one of a kind. Here's why.

Dick Butkus was a summabich
The man had real killing itch.
Tackling for him was removing your head,
Then leaving you in the field bleeding and dead.
Once a loose ball was loose, then a pileup that seemed to linger and linger.
Referee went hand hunting for the ball, ole Dick tried to bite off his finger.
Dick the Butkus, linebacker, was one of a kind.
Nobody like him before, now or any future time.
Dick Butkus was a summabich
The man had real killing itch.

Will never been considered an all-time great because he won't play on an all-time great team while at TN. I can see him having a career similar to Kevin Simon

true "best ever" player comparisons are settled in the NFL, imo. some kids are still learning and growing by the time they graduate.
