Jury didn't spend much time going over testimony... so either an emotional verdict or they quickly agreed there was no evidence to support aggravated rape charges.

4 years and an NFL career wasted for the jury to only take 90 minutes to find not guilty.....

Trial sounds like a farce and should have never happened.

Justice is never pleasant, even for the "winning" side. It may bring vindication for one party, but is always harmful and painful for both.

I'm sorry all the folks involved went through this. If anyone knowingly put forward a false narrative for whatever reason, shame on them for bringing this life-long burden upon themselves and the other parties.

I had read a while back that her family is incredibly connected and that’s why this went to trial. Daddy wanted “justice.”

I hope her father didn't push for trial... but you're probably right that he was a factor. He, of all people, should have known the case was weak.

The defense was so much stronger in closing. I think they gamed the state by resting this morning. The DA indicated that they had more witnesses, perhaps saved for rebuttal, but there was nothing to rebut. Excellent strategy that left the state scrambling. The rebuttal closing was especially weak.
