AJ Johnson/Michael Williams Case (merged)

I don't know those numbers but it's important to remember many indictments don't go to trial. Some are plead out. Some are dropped. In fact, I'd say that the minority of cases see trial after an indictment, but I can't back that up with links.

So if you're innocent you demand a trial and if you're guilty you likely plead out?

If that was your daughter, I bet you would feel differently.

Maybe so, but considering that I'm taking the bar in July and know how the justice system works then maybe not.

The worst scumbag is entitled to their day in court and sentiments like that is why cowboy justice lynch mobs don't fly.

Wow. Well, guilty or innocent, hopefully they get a drama free trial and justice is served, whether that represents them being found guilty or being found innocent.

Why in the heck would you talk about rape to a 9 year old child?

I'm sure he didn't go into extreme detail, but if you've ever had the news on with a kid in the room, you know that look when they hear something like this and they're trying to process it. Might as well tell them the truth and have them hear it the way you want them to coming from you rather than some kid on a playground.

With the commercials they have out today. They will be asking you about vaginal discomfort during sex, erectile disfunction, what is wrong with having an erection for more than 4 hours?, etc. There is no reason to have this crap on TV . It even disgust me....:no:

Innocent or guilty sometimes you plead out. Sometimes if you're guilty you still get proven innocent.

I hope they throw them under the prison if they are guilty BUT I wouldn't rush to judgment just yet. Again, new DA with an accuser with DNA evidence. There is no way this wasn't going to trial.

I'm so freaking conflicted about this. I love the football player aj. Like few others. But I've got a daughter...and I live her more than life. Something terrible happening to her keeps me up at night worrying

If you weren't worried about this in this day and age, people would worry about you as a parent.

I'm conflicted as well, if he did it or ignore the fact it was done then lock him up and throw away the key.

If it was wrong place wrong time then we all need to move on. The damage is done and all reputations will be scared for life.

This is a mess regardless of what happen. I guess we will find out eventually.

When this started, I recall lots of people here saying, "I am waiting to see what the evidence says" and waiting to see if they'd be charged. I predict now it'll be something else. As is already happening by a few posters. News flash, people do not want to believe this kind of thing, I get that. But, to not believe it is absurd. Happens every day by people who others viewed as "such a nice person" therefore can't be true. Get over it.

Still waiting...I'm glad you have convicted them though.

Technically no one is found innocent. They are found not guilty which simply means the jury didn't think the state made a case beyond a reasonable doubt. So

That would be because you are presumed innocent. You are already known to be innocent and the state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt thay you are not.

If the DA wants an indictment they are pretty much going to get one. On the other hand the DA probably won't seek a trial unless they think they can win. This seems out of character for AJ but it's not like I know him personally so what do I know? The fact that he is a football player makes some people automatically defend him and others automatically assume he's guilty. The fact is none of us know what happened. Nothing to do but let it play out at this point.

Anyone else feel like this is Michael Williams and AJ was unfortunately topped into it? I just have that feeling. Call it denial but he's going to be proven guilty before I'll buy it.

From reading the indictment, you got it backwards.
