AJ Johnson can't catch a break

Sorry but having a drunken MMF threesome whether it's sexual assault or not is a poor decision especially when you have an NFL future. You walk a guarded line with everything, people you associate with, and every action.

I thought it was reported the dudes took turns and the girl was fine with it until her boyfriend found out and then got the police involved.

Don't drive after drinking and drugging.

If cancer researchers put the same energy pot users put into beating a urine drug screen, that disease would be cured by now. That is why more and more companies make their employees take a hair test.

The problem with drug companies is that there's a lot more money in treating cancer rather than finding a cure....

I hope AJ is sentenced to extent of the law and doesnt get off due to "who he is". I still have a lovely scar from being hit by a drunk driver (who had a powerful brother. This guy who hit me got off on reduced charges and was later in a fatal DUI crash a few months later where he died).

I've always thought that the room was dark, AJ's teammate (Michael Williams) was hiding in the closet, it was a tag team thing, and the victim didn't figure out that there were two guys until the 2nd guy had already commenced with his "business". I formed that opinion (based on what I had read on message boards) shortly after the arrest... hopefully the truth comes out in court.

This latest arrest sure looks bad for AJ too. "Innocent" until proven otherwise... but damn. Passed out (remote chance that it was a medical issue) and reefer in sight... SMDH.

You should visit a place like St. Jude before questioning the character and motives of those that work in cancer research.

As always, there are a lot judgmental statements here. AJ may have made a mistake but the important thing is nobody was injured as a result. It is poor decision making/planning to drive impaired but many people still do it - even in the age of Uber and increasingly cheaper taxis. He can learn from this and if he has a substance abuse problem, get treatment for it. In Knox County, a good attorney can usually at least get a first offence reduced if not dismissed.

As for the more serious pending rape charge... I continue to hear that there are problems with the prosecution's case.

I have not read the actual reports, but rumors of alcohol being consumed and plant substances being burned have been linked to that incident, as well as the birthday party that got raided at the same location a few months prior to that night.

But the cause of his poor decisions is not thinking. I know of several people who get drunk and smoke weed, but they don't drive when they do it, and they go somewhere remote where cops never come. You can count the number of people who know about the party and location on both hands (usually one), and nobody leaves until the sun rises.

They are smart about their illegal substance abuse, but that doesn't make it right. The best way to stay out of trouble is to NOT break the law, bad things usually happen when you do.

If that's the case then he is a bad person!

Please tell me which culture it is that you fell badly for? I do feel bad that he was unjustly accused of rape, and she should be imprisoned. But in this case, what culture that we as fans perpetuate, caused him to drink, drive and spoke pot?

Has that actually been confirmed that he was unjustly accused? Hopefully you aren't just speculating on something like that and stating it as fact

It was a figure of speech meaning "make a good decision". Sorry if you perceived it differently. The guy was set to be an NFL millionaire and was a virtual God during his time as a Vol until he screwed up. Now, due to his poor decisions, all of that is gone and he is left with virtually no future.

Virtually no future? You people and hyperbole...

I 2nd that.

As for the DUI, AJ did catch a break. He fell asleep at a red light tater than at full speed running into a group of people.

Don't drive after drinking and/or drugging. It's bad enough so many drive after 1 drink and think that they are fine, it's the ones that are hammered and driving that so disturbing.

One drink is below the legal limit, which is pretty low to begin with.

I'm not talking some free casino drink. Let me mix you a Jack & Coke, you will be over the limit, after the 2nd one you will know you're over the limit.

The last J&C I got from from the Olive Garden, under the limit for sure.

At 10 or later on any given night in ktown half the ppl leaving a beer serving place and driving could be cited for dui

Doesn't make any of them in the right...

Also, if I remember correctly, A J was hosting parties with his teammates on at least a couple of occasions, when police were called in and treated very badly. So, he has been at the center of several really bad situations...

Coach Jones didn't do much about it, as I recall. He had a chance to make a difference, and chickened out. So, I think that is on him (I am not against our coach. Just commenting on this situation.)

The guy had his career ruined by a cow who is falsely accusing him of rape, and he's still having to struggle with that now. I'm not saying that justifies his behavior but it's obvious it's taking its toll.

If you follow his IG he seems to be living the high life...taking island vacations, frolicking around with his dogs and his girlfriend, etc.

The day after the story of this latest arrest came out, he posted a video on his Instagram of himself getting a pedicure and foot massage and it included the Bob Marley emoji.

And where would he get that kind of money ?

Not sure if I should blame him for being an idiot or feel badly for him for being a victim of the culture we, as fans, help to perpetuate.

So this is really our fault? The lengths to which the liberal mind will bend to excuse poor behavior is stunning.

I have no idea. You can go see it all on his Instagram feed - his handle is @chiefbeast45. The story is still up as well. It was posted 14 hours ago but will only be up for 24 hours, then will disappear. I think you have to be a follower of his to see it.

I'm guessing its been a while since you have been on this site, or watched a Tennessee game, or have done anything associated with UT.

You are wrong on all accounts. This guy is trouble for the team and UT. Get rid of his ass now.
Slide another player into his slot. Someone that has school pride and appreciates this kind of opportunity.
We don`t want to be known as "thug University". His actions are all wrong.
