So... the first mistake that you make is insinuating that AJ was arrested. To my knowledge he has not been and that is the cause for the polarization on VN. Both positions have valid argument and the truth is we don't know what happened. I'm fine with the position that Butch has taken. The program and the University are more important than the player or the result of the bowl game. That being said, it will be a very sad thing if AJ is not charged and he has been denied his senior day and a bowl game with a team that he has led and worked so hard for over the past 4 years just because of an accusation. You're foolish to suggest that he should have stayed in and studied rather than go to a party on a Saturday night. That's just not realistic or reasonable.

Why dont you just focus on basic communication?Leave the heavy lifting of this case to the judicial system and UT administration.

I really love how we have an innocent until proven guilty judicial system.. but a guilty if your just accused culture. Doesn't even matter that not even an arrest is made let alone a trial happens.. let alone a verdict actually comes back as guilty.

Because a girl who we do not even know who she is, what kind of history she has. What vendetta's she MAY have, or who she MAY be trying to hide the truth of the night from.(notice the words may.. meaning might..she might not either).

But just because the words came out of this unknown girls mouth, we have people like you who just assume he is guilty and then bash the guy over it.

Rape is one of the worst things a human can do. Anyone guilty of it should have their genitalia removed to make sure they can never commit the crime a second time and ruin someones life again.. because that is what rape does.. it ruins the rest of the victims life.

But it is also one of the worst things to accuse someone of if it is not true because of the same reason.. it ruins the rest of the accused's life. Because of ignorant people like you who want to condemn without proof.

I truly believe that just like they with hold the name of victims.. thy should also not name those accused until a guilty verdict is reached. For the same reason on both sides of the argument.. so lives are not ruined.

So, you are sitting at home, hear a knock at the door and a neighbor tells you that your wife/son/daughter/friend or whoever was just arrested by the police.

You go down to the station, walk into the jail and ask "are you holding (insert name) here?"

Cop: "Not telling you."

You: "My neighbor saw you arrest them. What are the charges?"

Cop: "Not telling you."

Are you going to close every court room? Censor every record and docket? It'd be like Soviet Russia circa 1955.

There is a reason that the actions of the government are public record. It is to protect the freedoms of everyone.

Ya but y u be thinking he wuz havin to account for his actions I mean the guy was at a party and there was many people also y wood he think that it's not ok to sleep wit some girl I mean if u r a university and u r trying to set an example you would think things like rape assault drugs fighting drinking driving are bad enough he should have went to a party and instead should have had his books and went in the back room and studied instead besides y u think it's a better football team when they goes by the rules instead of just lettin them play it's a game on the field not off the field if you know what I'm sayin.
