Tired of talking, typing and reading about AJ. He's the one who put himself in that situation at 3am. He's not the first, nor will he be the last Vol athlete to throw away a career. I'd rather focus on the future of this program than have to read about an athlete who could've helped, but can't because of his decisions.

Unless alleged victim recants or refuses to testify, this case is going to trial. It is up to the jury to decide who is telling the truth, based on body language, facial expressions and other evidence. If the Vandy case is any indication of how long it will take for case to proceed to trial, AJ's draft stock has taken a serious hit.

Knoxville police release items seized from A.J. Johnson's apartment

The items include an iPhone, a used condom, a condom wrapper, an Apple MacBook, a white T-shirt, folded toilet paper, a fleece blanket, a bed comforter, a tan bed sheet, a black pillow case and a marijuana grinder.

However, Knox County Criminal Court Judge Bobby McGee sealed the sworn affidavits that detailed what investigators presented to obtain the search warrant.

Well stated IMO. Whether or not he committed a crime he has only himself to blame. It's a very bad situation and it's holding this team back.

The most common would that the judge feels there is information contained in the documents that if made public could compromise either the police department's ability to investigate the crime or the ability of the accused to receive a fair trial.

*Edited* Headline misleading, article states list of items siezed released, not the actual items themselves.

OK... I know little about something like this but the fact that KPD released the items seems there was no evidence there or the items would have been retained as evidence for the trial if the grand jury sends it to trial. Is this correct? Does this bode well for AJ if this is the case?

I think u misread that. It said KPD released a list of items seized to be used as evidence.

Not that the rape allegations aren't bad enough, and certainly should be the focus here, but even if all of that turns out to be false, no denying the "marijuana grinder" in his apartment. Before all of you start saying "all college kids do it" or explaining how its an ethnic thing...whatever, AJ is/was/supposed to be a leader on this team, and apparently didn't learn that lesson the last time he got into trouble. That's very disappointing to me, aside from the other stuff, which if proven true will make the pot thing seem like nothing, but even if the situation hadn't occurred, apparently AJ had been smoking pot...which again, regardless of your opinion, the facts are that it is illegal. Im sure there are many others, white and black players...smoking pot and I probably don't even want to know everything else that goes on that we don't know about...I guess im kind of old fashioned and gullible and like to think that these guys are smarter than that and are staying away from that stuff. I don't know why im surprised every single time a college athlete with such potential and hope for millions $$$ would still be stupid enough to do the things they do to screw it all up.

Gotcha. I saw the headline from the WBIR link that said "Knoxville police release items seized from A.J Johnson's apartment" and missed the part about the "search warrants being made public Monday".

Besides the rape charges, that Marijuana Grinder is certainly not an item a football player should have inside his apartment. The pot grinder certainly raises questions about drug use while playing.
