AJ Johnson Accused of Sexual Assault

Oh.. and the Tennessean reported earlier that the victim's attorney was seeking for it to go before a grand jury for charges. Again, doesn't matter what you believe in regards to Aj's guilt/innocence... but this isn't being resolved quickly.

It doesn't matter at all if the victim wants to.

What matters is if the DA decides there's enough evidence to go to the grand jury.

Did any of the coaches say anything about Williams? Because if they didn't and they're saying they "can't wait to get AJ back", that says a lot IMO.
Maybe that meant that he "couldn't wait to get back at A.J." The accuser might be related to him.

A good kid can make a horrible mistake and still be a good kid.

That's not the point. Someone with a reasonable understanding on how the media works, would not defend a person who is more than likely going to be charged with rape. Nevertheless, as you know, this is just speculation. I don't claim to be right. This is just what makes sense to me.

That's what they said in Ferguson, MO.

Sometimes in high profile cases, it goes to the grand jury to avoid public backlash.

I agree, but the reason for a victim's (supposed) anonymity is to be free from reprisal or further danger. I do agree that the entire thing should be kept private, including the names of the alleged rapist, until there is actual proof other than a victims claims.

Darrell DeBusk the KPD's information officer ststed the names of the suspects CANNOT be released because they have not been charged with any crime. But still yet the names of the players were released to the public, and from what I am hearing the leak came from reporters. My question is Who leaked it to the reporters? That is who is responsible....just saying.

Raping someone burns your good card, period. Not saying he did, but rape is more serious than oh gosh I made a mistake.

I agree rape is very serious. Guess I'm hoping this is a case of inappropriate or questionable conduct and not rape. I think most here would consider Daniel Hood a good kid.

Good young man...not good KID. (When his crime occurred). :ermm:

and Thig is already getting thrashed in local media:

"not sure if the coaching staff needs to be commenting on AJ Johnson unless they know something we don't."

So, i guess we'll see. Maybe he knows something? Maybe he should have been more careful in his words.

Do you have a link to this? I cannot find it. Thanks in advance.

If I had to guess, he could have underestimated the weight of his words, based on his view of the situation. Either way, it wasn't very smart to make a comment like that to the media.

Imo this type of thing is calculated. Thigpen is definitely our best recruiter. You know recruits follow his tweets. Just a subtle way he can show those young men if you come to Tennessee he will support you. As for the meaning of the text itself I doubt he has inside knowledge.

The links I can find for the Tennessean regarding this incident are the three below and none of them state the above information. Is there another link somewhere?

I agree with Volstylexx thatvot doesn't seem likely to be resolved in 3 days.

Doesn't have to be resolved by Saturday for AJ to return. He could come back for Vandy and the bowl game won't be until late December. Still a lot of time left for him to play one last game in orange.

Not sure too many people exspect it to be resolved in 3 days. Possible, but not likely.

Volstyexx's original statement was that he wouldn't be back at all......not just in 3 days. Thig's statement was either poorly thought out OR lends some credence to the fact that he will be back at some point in time.

Because the rape victim hired legal representation yesterday and her attorney told the D.A. she would cooperate fully and seek full

.

Why would she hire legal rep when the d.a .s are her legal rep. At least until crim trial is over. Civil rep comes after crim.

Since when does a Grand Jury give charges? lol

They decide on a true bill if the charge has enough merit to warrant charges they issue a true bill and court date for prosecution will come. If they deny the charges it's over criminally but civilly can still be found guilty

I'd assume to ensure she was protected and wasn't bullied by local prosecutors to drop the claim.

I've met many da s and not saying it doesn't happen but I don't see that happening they just wouldn't pursue it. I mean ur scenario is feasible

was posted in the "Poll will AJ be back for Mizz" by another poster, and aligns with what Knox news Sentinel posted, which was quoted earlier.

I do not believe that Knox news sentinel said that. I cannot find any verifiable quote that the girls attorney said anything. Would love to read it for myself.
