I have had flase claims made about me, as I am sure a good number of men around here have.

If not Sexual misconduct then Domestic assault.

It is just too easy now a days for a female who gets mad at a man to simply say rape or abuse because they know that even without a single shred of evidence to back up what they say. It still means the man either has his reputation destroyed or gets arrested,

It is a shame this happens, because I think it is very disrespectful to all the women out there who do get raped or abused.

Again, not saying this is what happened.. I am only saying that we need to get some facts before we start writing off these guys.

There was one time this happened to me. Finally, after begging and pleading with the police, they told my wife to come off with it more then once a month.

This thread sums up why most rapes/sexual assaults go unreported, especially against athletes.Too many people care about a game more than someone else's well being. Some of the responses in here are so unbelievable. The fact that some people seriously think like that is scary.

the fact that people judge others without having facts is even scarier.
the vast majority on this board have no idea what is right in this case.
facts are scarce. unfortunately rumors and speculation are not

Has anybody mentioned the girl accusing him is a former/ current girlfriend? The other chick left and went back to Florida and said nothing. Sounds fishy but can't rule out everything

They think like this when it's a UT player. If this was a UF, Bama, UGA, or LSU player they would demand the player be kicked-off the team, the coach fired, and all wins vacated.

Per sources close to the program... an offensive player that has not been with the team since Monday may have been jealous and may have caused this thread. Per same sources the TEAM backs AJ and Williams and the offensive player has not showed up to practice since the police report was filed.TIFWIW

Oh absolutely not. I mean by half the people in this thread AJ is one guilty mofo and shouldn't be allowed near the team. Hell, according to some even if he didn't do anything wrong to the woman he's guilty because he shouldn't have put himself in a situation where it could even be questioned. If that statement isn't one of the more asinine ones that I've read in this thread.

2) I definitely don't know everything. But if people think a sex crime accuser should be automatically identified or that allegations like these can be just dismissed in the name of getting a player back on the field, I definitely know something they don't.

Nothing wrong with your opinion. I can see the evil begets evil point of view. I just feel like every crime has an appropriate action and I feel like tainting a young woman's body against her will deserves at least a solid butt whipping. It's not like they won't heal and live to learn hopefully.

Not me, I don't care who it is. Rape a woman, or hurt a kid in that way and I'm all for them getting every ounce of punishment they can.

I think the main problem with this board is people cannot act like adults and tolerate other peoples opinions. People view situations/events differently and sometimes the things they believe or say will make you question their morality or humanity, however, every single one of us is entitled to our opinion. Instead of people arguing for victim, or for accused, and then being involved in a pissing battle that extends for pages is just immature. This is a delicate subject, not only with high profile individuals, but in America. A few of us are attorneys, or more knowledgable than others when it comes to these situations, but we should all be respectful of one another, just tolerate each others opinions, and act like adults and discuss the seriousness of this matter and focus on supporting our team. We should all just wait for more information before leaning in ANY direction. And we should stop speculating, arguing, and throwing out rumors. Lets just wait for the facts people, and until then lets just support one another. We are VolNation and we are better then this.

I have a hard time believing this was a case of jealousy. You don't push someone to go to the cops with rape allegations against a teammate out of jealousy.

Especially with it being the player that is in question of doing this. He has been nothing but a top notch individual throughout his time here. JMO, but if this is true (and I repeat IF) then I believe he felt that this was the right thing to do.

The player in question of doing this is of high integrity. All I'm saying is I feel that he probably felt it was warranted if this is true.

If she made up a bs story to protect her relationship with him and he has feelings for her, easy to see how her lie would snowball and both of them would make it run this course.

To say he has not been with the team since Monday, would infer that he was with the team on Monday, and hasn't been since then! For example... I have not seen the Vols play a football game since Saturday.

Speaking as a female....I KNOW how vindictive girls/women can be. I can see them being 'star struck' by any attention these guys paid them. I can also see them crying 'foul' once they realized they were just the flavor of the day.

RAPE is a serious accusation....and even if there wasn't one here....the damage is already been done to these young men.
