Ive never farmed myself other than staying with my grandparents two weeks every summer and helping out. I can remember helping chop cotton with a hoe when I was a teenager. My parents have stories very similar to yours. Except for the big cats but its funny you mention that. I was talking with a coworker today about cougar sightings in TN and there have been sightings near my family in MO. Have you heard of any recent sightings?
Yeah. Quite a few actually. Arkansas game and fish say there are no big cats here. It's a lie.
Buddy of mines wife was traveling from booneville arkansas to greenwood arkansas (30 min drive) had to slam on brakes to keep from hitting one. Was on middle of highway 10.
Another friend of mine had one in his pasture. He heard his horse going nuts and went outside Cougar/mtn lion was chasing it.
They also told me (ag&f ) that bears were not around here either. 2 weeks later they had to come tranquilize one out of my brothers tree.
And he lives in a small town out side of fort smith too
Hell I chased a bear with a butt as wide as my quad down a logging road at deer camp. It's head was as big as a dinner plate
