Ainge's resume

I think that every time I see you post. Stop trolling.

Trolling? How can that be? All I did was point out his stats and his issues over the past 4 years. I missed a few of his stats (which actually made him look better), but for the post part it is all based on fact. Ainge did beat out Scheaffer in 2004's fall practice leading up to UNLV. Is that a fact? Or is that trolling? He didn't separate himself from Rick Clausen in 2005? Is that a fact or is that trolling? He's been treated with kid gloves and been cut more slack than any QB (at any school) in recent memory. Trolling? I've said that Ainge is injury proned since I've been here, then low and behold, he has 2 injuries in the span of 6 months. The pinky injury has been a contributing factor in our playcalling this year and cost us a momentum changing drive against Florida. Is that a lie? Is that being deceptive? Trolling?

GA, you know as well as I do, that had CJ Leak, Rick Clausen, Suggs, Scheaffer, Matthews, or Crompton had pulled the stunt he did in LSU (sophmore or not), that that QB would have been in the doghouse for the rest of his stay on campus. Can you even admit that is true and factual?

I realize you got the power to ban and what not... I respect that, but I can't backdown from the truth. These are all of the things that have happened with Ainge. Is he the reason why we are 1-2? Not the main reason, there's plenty of blame to go around with this team to single out one guy. But I will say this, he is not the problem, but he also is not the solution, either. What has he done outside of a few flashes of brilliance in 2004's Florida game and last year's Georgia game (second half) that makes not just you, but others, have ANY faith that this guy is worthy of anymore slack? People are throwing out names like D. Moore, Jones, Ben Martin, Vinson, etc... no problem with taking out upperclassmen from those spots and trying to find a spark someone. But Ainge is untouchable? How did he earn that honor?

Please explain :dunno:

Frankly, I have to say I agree with some of what Rasputin has said. Ainge is, by no means, the reason for our woes in Knoxville (they go far beyond that), but he sure hasn't done anything spectacular to help us win either. I just don't think he is near as good as hyped, and I'm not sure he has the mental fortitude to be successful in the NFL. (He may prove me wrong, and I hope he does.) As for his stats, who cares.....the bottom line is that he hasn't done much to help win games and he sure doesn't seem to be an effective leader. It's no secret that the coaching staff has pampered and petted him and worried a great deal about his fragile psyche. I know he's a QB and all, but he's a freakin' football player. If he needs to be treated with such kid gloves, maybe he should be playing at an ACC school....like Duke. I'm sure there wouldn't be any pressure there!! The SEC is a tough environment and we need tough kids at UT. I just don't think Ainge is tough enough to withstand the physical punishment (as evidenced by his many injuries) or the mental pressure. I don't consider him to be an awful QB (he's had intermittent glimmers of possibility) nor do I have anything personal against the kid. I'm just calling it as I see it. For those of you who think we'll win out this season, enjoy your fairy tale; but realistically we should be playing for next year. Let's get some back-ups and young guys in there to get some reps so that next fall we don't hear "Well, he's inexperienced and hasn't taken many snaps" as an excuse for a poor QB performance. Look at Florida...Tebow was used effectively last season, and this season he stepped successfully into his role with great confidence. By the way, it seems like every other team these days can have Freshman "phenoms" at one position or another. With the exception of maybe Berry this year, why is it that we rarely do at Tennessee?

Who knows........TVA?????????????????

:dunno:

And you're right on the money. If anyone saw the Patriots/Chargers game, you'll see how a good defense will destroy a weak armed QB that is trying to throw hitch passes. Ainge has rarely missed a throw, and he has intangibles that people aren't giving him credit for. Mostly his ability to go under center and convert the 3rd and longs. It's the hitch patterns I think he's being told to run that never convert. When he stretches the field out is when he's effective.

When has he done that consistently, man? C'mon now...

I'll admit I didn't read this long thread, but the stats in the Southern Miss game are incorrect. You shorted him 4 completions and more than 20 yards. And that was a very quick glance.

Ok... I hurried through a few of the stats when I posted this. It wasn't an effort to be deceptive, if that is what you are insinuating. It was meant to show a general trend. You can give him credit for the numbers he actually got against USM. But look at the overall body of work and you have to come away feeling less than amazed.

Just say you hate Ainge........:eek:k:

I'll agree that the poster who started this thread is an idiot.

However, Ainge had neither 3000 yards nor 20 TDs.

19 TDs and 2900 and change in yards.

If I'm not fully sold on Ainge, that makes me a troll and an idiot. OK... I predicted he would be injured and predicted no SEC championship or BCS bowl game even if he was healthy.

Now if an idiot could see this coming, what does that say about most of you so called "experts"?

8. Struggles in the UAB game to open season. Has his bacon saved again, this time by Rick Clausen

Seems like it was 10 to 0 early then they pulled Ainge. Then the rest they say is history.

I do not think Ainge is the problem. I believe he is the only consistant thing they have going right now.

One thing I have noticed however, there are always Vol fans who don't like the quarterback. When Peyton was there, a lot of people complained and said Stewart was the guy.

Technically you're a troll because you've previously been banned for being a troll.

Sarcastic maybe, but if what I posted is trolling, that is a very loose definition, imo.

Can you even honestly explain why we have dealt with all of Ainge's issues over the past 4 years and still stick behind this guy after he lets us down again? That opening thread was his resume. with the exception of a few stats that were hurriedly entered, everything was posted in good faith and not meant to be deceptive.

Come on, at least post under TVA with that silly avatar....

I call you an idiot because you get banned and you come back.

If you don't like Ainge that is fine. He is injury prone. That is your opinion.
The fact you repeat yourself at every turn about how someone else should be starting is played out. Stop.

This is why you are a troll: You post mindless babbling while trying to get a reaction from people.

That's not opinion.

As far as someone else starting, it seems to me that right now, everybody's position (not just Ainge's) should be up for grabs. Let these young guys get in and lets see what they can do to build towards next year.

No one has a problem with havin other positions up for grabs. But not QB. Why not? Cutcliffe has admitted on several occasions already this year that his injury is limiting them on certain plays. Parrish has limitations and people are screaming for his job, yet somebody that hasn't lead his team to even a bowl game should be given more preferential treatment than Parrish? Nobody's position is that sacred or that important that they can't be benched.

How many people on here predicted an SEC title or a BCS bowl appearance? Answer: Not many.

There were several. There were a lot more people screaming 10-2 or 11-1. The argument used was that we had a senior QB, Florida had lost a lot of players on defense, and that we could handle Cal based on last season.

Go back and look. You've even argued with some of them.

Your button is stuck.

What we should have done is filled the starting positions with freshmen and sophomores and geared toward next year.
