Ainge's Apology

As much as I don't want Foster as our feature back. I really like that guy as a person and Vol.

Kinda funny how CPF doesn't like playing freshman b/c they get you beat but our senior qb is the one that made the mistakes.

Ainge is a solid qb, but one that will be soon forgotten.

I think the thing with Ainge is that he played good to great against good to average teams, but couldn't elevate his game against great teams.

Good story though, he could have folded after his sophomore year.

Personally, I'll remember Ainge for more than this game. The game is not his legacy IMHO.

As posted earlier, we wouldn't have been in the game at all without him.

Hope he has a great game against the Badgers.

What meaningful game did he win that you will remember him for? Just a question.

Did they lead to an SEC title?

Nope, so they meant about as much as wins over Vandy and Kentucky.

they are building blocks on the way there. You have to win those big games to get to the bigger games. A win over UGA in this day and age is very important.

I really don't care what they mean to you. I posted about my thoughts on Ainge - he's been a good QB for the Vols and I'll remember more about him than 2 throws in the SECCG.

You are free to remember him anyway you please :eek:k:

Tru, he's also the main reason we gave it away. I expected more from a senior.

You got it! Wait 'til next year when these same recievers are performing like world beaters.....it's coming and Ainge's inability/unwillingness to hang in the pocket will shine through as these guys who "can't get seperation" actually have more than 3 seconds to let the play develop before the ball is in the air....it is coming my friends. In the meantime, GO VOLS beat the varmits.....

wrong. Ainge stayed in the pocket quite a bit Saturday night and was constantly having to check down to other receivers because no one could get open.

I honestly don't even think it's arguable.

I'd put P.M., Casey, Heath, Tee, Andy Kelley and maybe Condredge Holloway and Tony Robinson in front of him.

Did you ever get to see this guy play? IMO, EA can't carry his jock strap.

I'd put Ainge and Casey together. T-Rob didn't see enough action. Tee has flashes of good and flashes of bad. Heath was a dual threat so probably a little stronger. Kelley had a good arm but threw a lot of INTs.

Holloway was fun to watch but without tear-away jersey's I wonder how he'd have done.

Tee and Kelly have something neither casey or Ainge have......sec titles.

just saying........and personally i still hold Andy Kelly as one of my all time favorites.

One thing I like about these boards is seeing all these people who have probably never played and couldn't if they wanted to totally cut down and diss these kids. I'm sure VolinthaATL would have made all the right reads and lead us to glory this year. Get a grip. Ainge will be remembered for a lot more than that game. Those who talk about Ainge like he was a lame QB are ignorant. Simple as that.

since when is a 2 TD game amazing? that's average at best. And the fact that he gave one back only hurts his stats even more.
