Ainge Today - getting excited

Interesting take. So say you were a radio personality and a former college QB. You see a guy playing well in practice. What would you say?
All I’m saying is just because ainge says he looks good in practice, doesn’t mean he’ll live up to expectations. Not doubting ainges’ ability to evaluate qb’s, but his opinion of how a qb looks in practice shouldn’t be weighted too heavily in regards to this season. we won’t know anything until the season starts. Is that real interesting for you?

Not as interesting as if a former Vol starting QB said it. 😴

His opinion isn't being weighted too heavily.

The vast majority of us are proceeding with caution. People pointing out that a guy may be good doesn't mean everyone is getting their hopes up. People saying the stuff you're saying isnt saving us from any future heartbreak.

Ainge knows what he's talking about and he's not saying Milton WILL be good, just that he has the potential too and nobody disagrees with that.

You could say that for ANY QB or player who has not played a game with the team yet.

There's nothing interesting about this take at all...

Sounds like you're arguing for no discussion before the season? I'm personally completely disinterested in a *discussion* board like that.

No, I simply said I take ainges opinion with a grain of salt. Which means I don’t put too much faith in it for how Milton will look this season. Where did I say no discussion? We won’t know anything until the season starts, doesn’t mean we can’t discuss it.

‎The Erik Ainge Show: The EA Show - Hour #1 (8.16.21) on Apple Podcasts

Listen to Ainge today starting at 12 minute mark. He watched all of practice this weekend and he’s super excited about the team

- Milton is the best looking QB he’s ever seen here at TN
- teammates are holding each other accountable and picking each other up
- feels better about depth at all positions…”they all look the part”
- competition is great…players fighting each other then picking each other up
- this is going to be the easiest TN team to root for in his lifetime
- coaches are hard and intense but patient. They’re actually teaching
- he’s tempering his expectations for Milton but when he throws it’s not normal. Every single human out there watches him when he throws
- only concern for Milton is when he throws a 6 yard slant it might go off the WR hands and to the other team
- Milton threw a ball to Hyatt 65 yards in air right in bread basket…the DB had stopped (Willy didn’t like that) because it was so far

- said as he’s learned more he understands why those players transferred to OK…he said Pruitt personally told individuals they were Effing terrible. That’s just one example of the things Pruitt said
- he’s very impressed with how Heupel is building this team up but simultaneously putting more demands on them
- not at 8-4 yet but trending that direction, but regardless they’re doing it all the right way…team is going to be fun to root for
So there is a chance

Bye, bye Baily......

Pretty smart not to. Baily is the better quarterback and he will leave. More power to him.

Yep this team is loaded. Very excited. can't wait for the UF game. This year is when we start dominating Florida again. I truly believe that.
Loaded...before one game....after last year...and losing a bunch of starters.....what planet are you on...

About what? For simply being excited? Geez. I guess everyone should just be Johnny Raincloud huh? No excitement at all 🙄
I am exited about deer season. I now won't have to make a choice. See you in the woods.

Okay not to be Debbie Downer or Mr. Nega Vol...but don't we get these same sort of reports and optimism with each new staff? That said WGWTFA well WGWSTFAs 7-5
Milton being the choice is an indication that this bunch doesn't have a clue.

When Bailey leaves you should leave with him. Make sure you help him pack. From the sounds of it you clean his shoes to. If you had any research skills you would have already learned that Joe Milton IS the better QB in camp. He’s made more plays and less mistakes than the other two combined. Just because he was some high school phenom doesn’t mean it will translate to college. What you do in high school doesn’t matter once you sign that LOI.

BailEy

At least spell his name right if you're so enamored with him.

Nice to know you know more than Ainge, Heupel and Hazle!

I think Bailey will be fine. He has 5 years still to play 4. He’s going to continue to improve and I think he’ll get his shot if he’s patient

We'll try to carry on without you. It'll be hard.

At this point in time, only CJH knows who is the best quarterback on this team. I do not think you can dispute that fact. Now to give you your due, In another system, HB might be a better quarterback. But in Heupel's system, Milton is the better quarterback. Case closed.
