Ainge Today - getting excited

I mean, so did a lot of coaches and scouts. Tbh, he wasn’t terrible until the last 2 years

Well that depends entirely on how you gauge the success of a college QB.

Or......maybe Milton is just the best of all the bad options at QB..............................................................

Some people are so beaten down by the last 15 years of Tennessee football, hey are afraid to even think about us having a good football team. From what I have seen and heard, I think we will win 7 games this year, have a good recruiting class this Fall and a really good recruiting class next Fall. Don't be afraid to believe!
We aren't even going to reach the 85 scholarship limit. No depth. Not even at QB. Right now, after Mauer transfers, we have three scholarship QB's and a walk on. Well, you can bet your ass Bailey will transfer. Plus, we lack depth everywhere. In particular, at the tackle position. I hope we win 7 or 8 games. But it'll take a miracle. I'll be tickled pink. if we win 5 or 6 games, and a bowl game(14 extra practices!!!).

One only players about 45-50 players a game unless it a real blowout. You can not get more than that number of players prepared to play. We seem to be better than most of us thought about the 2 deep units. My biggest concern is injuries at key positions such as LBs and DBs. We may need a little help at TE if someone get hurt. Miracles do happen and this year is a good time for them to show up. I really like at the attitude of this team this year and this is probably the best chance we have had to do something like this in the last 20 years.

It was above and beyond the normal level of sticking up for a guy and normal levels of homerism.

If JG had lit Neyland Stadium on fire, Ainge would have advocated for not putting out the fire and proceed to describe how beautiful the fire was and how evenly the stadium was burning down.

Not even close to our best chance in 20 years. Not even our best chance in the last 10. We've had way more talent, before. But poor coaching held us back. The 16' Vols should've won the SEC East, at the very least. But, as far as attitudes go, by players and staff, I see your point. But this is not even an average SEC caliber team, as far as talent and depth. Hopefully injuries will not factor.

You let it bother you too much…good!

And you tuned in to a rival fanbase’s former QB’s radio show? Your shows that boring? 😎

yeah gotta be honest, being a "personality" on a internet college football forum is pretty sad, but when it's a rivals board its even more pathetic.

We have a 9-3 schedule but not the depth to get there. All I want is 6 or more wins, and to stop giving up after the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. Get the game into the 4th quarter and force the other team to make plays with the game on the line.

The transfer portal may help us change the culture faster. I like this coaching staff.

We will see. The season starts in 13 days and the football gods are waiting.

Encouraging report, thanks for the recap.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be a really fun team to watch. And while fun and entertaining might not immediately translate into as many wins as we'd like, it's progress.
That’s all I’m hoping for, and exciting team, and coaches that don’t repeat the same predictable patterns of not pushing forward. Tired of the playing it safe approach to coaching we’ve grown used too. So glad we didn’t hire a defensive head coach this time. I just want change in some fashion at this point
