I can't comment on Teague's hips...but he isn't slow. He is actually quite fast. For the most part I do believe it is technique.

Anybody have the 40 times from camp?

He's plenty fast, but the position is tough when you're thinking rather than reacting and when you don't have a feel for the position.

There is a difference between straight line speed and "football" speed.

Wasn't UT better on O when Cutcliffe was here than when he wasn't? That's how I remember it anyway but maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
I think that the point was both were loyal to their assistants to a fault. I didn't read that as a reflection of the Fulmer/Cutcliff pairing.

Wasnt Teague recrutied as a WR?? We should stick him in the slot. I think he is better at running routes then he is at covering. :eek:lol:

Not hiring P Manning would be the dumbest hiring decision ever made. I'm not a "he was a great player so he's a great coach person" but P Manning would be a HUGE upgrade to what we have now. There's not an offensive coach (including our HC) on current staff who knows more than Manning. According to Gruden - Manning ran the entire Colts offense (both practices and games).

Sounds similar to what went on around here from 95 to 97.

A baseball player coaching dbs isn't any more far fetched than an ex-qb saying his buddy would do a better job

Ainge wasn't going up to bat for Lott, either. He was just saying that, Joseph isn't getting the job done and he isn't even the most qualified person to be coaching DB's that we have on campus.

As someone has suggested before, is there any problem with having CTJ remain as an administrative recruiting coordinator, rather than a field coach? Maybe he wouldn't fly with that, or with the pay-cut it would require.

You're only allowed 9 assistants, so having one of them be a recruiter who doesn't coach any position is pretty much a waste.

Agreed. After the Chuck Smith debacle, I would be looking for more on a resume than "had a great career at UT".

I know ...imagine an ex-great Vol and NFL baller being critical of Wilcox for not bringing the blitz . We all lnow that SEC QBS cant do jack when given 10-15 seconds in the pocket. What a cowboy , attempting to assert tried and true defensive concepts ...unbelievable

Joseph is a lousy coach. Teague is slow. Teague runs a 4.4. Teague has stiff hips. Most are just dumb opinions from people who don't know what the f*** they are talking about.

If you believe for 1 minute that DD won't replace somebody who can't help him win, I have a bridge I can sell to YOU. I am sure he evaluates everyone, including Joseph.

Teague was moved to DB to fill an emergency need. He did the best that he could playing out of position to help the team. He is a WR. Give the kid a break. He did a very selfless thing and you "fans" are blasting him. Classless.

Blitzing and relying on this secondary to cover? BRILLIANT. I know you are being sarcastic. Aren't you?

Not sure what Terry Fair sees...but I see some very obvious stuff that the coaches could do to inmprove the team

The huge offensive and defensive meltdowns after halftime should be a red flag idicating a coaching flaw.

Yeah depth and experience ...that doesnt account for all those 3rd quarter points

Yeah, it's not like multiple players danced around saying in interviews that Chuck Smith had no idea how to coach the DL as a unit.

Also, I think there's a slight difference between "being critical" and what CS did to Wilcox according to multiple sources.

its not Teague fault he can't play corner at the SEC level its our coaches fault for not recognizing and continue playing him. CTJ can't get it done face it. As they say the #'s don't lie

Coleman had the Vols' first pass breakup since the Georgia game during Saturday's fourth quarter. The Vols have six as a team over the past four games

Tell me how pitiful that is. Also, B Brewer is worse this year than last. CTJ is a baseball guy he only has a job b/c he has a family member who use too (or still does) coach in the NFL. Coaching jobs is about connections and who you know; anyone in profession will tell you that.

We MUST re-place CTJ.... Anyone who thinks he is doing a good job - well I won't say but facts don't lie.

Lack of depth doesn't account for poor second-half performance? Interesting.
