Ainge: "QB position is a question mark"

Ainge just said that. Unreal.

This choke-master pick-throwing superchoker just slammed Bray.

Li'l Erik, I have news for you. Bray is 50 times the QB you were ever were. As a sophomore, he outshines you as a senior. The QB position is one place on our offense that we don't have a question mark.

You might want to stay away from slamming Bray at this point, considering your own shortcomings.

QB is definitely a question mark. I think Bray has a huge upside but he hasn't beaten anyone yet. He can't live off his arm forever. Eventually he will have to learn to read defenses. Ainge was very solid for us. He got us to the SEC championship and beat ranked teams. So he's definitely has more knowledge and insight than us armchair Qbs. Just sayin

heh.

lmao.

Thanks for the grin :)

Not by me, they weren't. I had him pegged early as a choker who would, while physically talented enough to get us to the door, invariably fail when the pressure was on in a big game.

He got lucky a couple of times, but for the most part, my evaluation was on target. He was a choker.

Bray is the furthest thing from a choker. Bray thrives on that shlt, thats why I like him.
Bray has never been in a big game. EVER. How do you know he thrives on anything. He has to make it through a whole season and beat some top 25 teams to even be close to what Ainge did while he was here. IMO Worley will be a much better and polished QB when it is all said and done.

I like we're reaching the point where the thread is so long that people are just reading the title and first post only and responding as though it's full content of the thread

Bray needs to beat the elite in the SEC before I think he's one of the top 3 in our league. I'm pulling for him to have his break out year!

I dont blame Bray for many of the L's, I mean look at who he has coaching him and calling plays for him............................:)

I definitely would put Wilson,McCarron and Murray ahead of him right now. Just based off what they have done and beaten. Not to say he won't be the better of them but so far definitely not.

So Worely played better against South Carolina than Bray as a freshman?

Look friend, you ain't my enemy and I ain't gonna bite and argue with you...you have your opinion and I have mine...Worley played well enough against USC to win the game...DRs drop of Worley's PERFECTLY THROWN pass hurt us in that game!!!

But the reason we lost the USCe game was not because of Worley's poor performance...it was multiple reasons, not the least of which was our defense's lack of ability to stop their run--from their 3rd team tailback or QB...

Not really.

YES REALLY! The UGA team that Ainge played against would have beaten this year's UGA or UT team by at least 3 TDs...Our defense was better that year...but no one expected the Vols to win that game--12.5 pt underdogs--And Ainge produced just enough on offense to win that game as a TRUE FRESHMAN--and it was only his 2nd start!

Bray didn't even get the ball in the endzone against UGA as a sophomore....

Notice that I said "comparable"...and not equal!

What Ainge was, and has been saying, is that people need to quit talking about Bray as though he has beaten anyone yet. I'm sorry, but until Bray can say that he beat Bama, Florida, Georgia, USCJR, and anyone else of substance, Ainge's remarks are true. Bray looks like he has all that we might want in a QB, but until it shows on the field he is a question.

...which is a lot more than you can say about UT with Bray under QB so far.

To be fair to Bray. The talent, leadership, and overall situation was different then. Ainge wouldn't have performed any better, probably worse given Brays numbers so far. Still it is a valid point that will not be answered until after the next 2 years. I do believe has the tools to get it done. To me the biggest question isn't Bray, hunter, or Da'Rick, it is the offensive line, that is BIG the question. With McCullers and Sentimore coming I'm feeling better about our D line.

Careful. You're likely to make Negateer cry.

It is utterly ridiculous to try and compare the two. Different coaches, different teams, etc. Ainge was a great QB who accomplished a lot. Bray is great QB and I believe will accomplish a lot, but hasn't yet.

Should Ainge have said that about Bray - probably not, but who cares. He has earned the right to talk about the team. I don't understand the need to bash Ainge or any former players for that matter. If you don't agree with his opinion, then say you don't agree. But stop throwing him under the bus.

That quote hit the nail on the head. He was really good his Freshman year until he took the shot at the end of the half against Notre Dame. From that point on he played the rest of his career scared and throwing picks off of his back foot. He back pedaled better than our DB's and no concept of stepping up into the pocket to deliver a strike. I wouldn't want him on a powder puff team even though he would fit in. That is the main reason I got excited about Bray when he first came in he would step up in the pocket and make a throw knowing he was going to take a shot in the chin. I don't pretend to know how good Bray is going to be he may be the same way after the broken thumb. But I do know I wouldn't trade for Ainge!!!!!:machgun:
