Ainge is on Locker Room

I was referring to Cutcliffe when I say "if he had stayed." Cutcliffe had pegged Coleman to start in 2008 or at least be starting by the middle of 2008.

Believe me, I'm well aware of the timing and circumstances around Coleman leaving.

Oops, my bad.
On second thought, I think I agree with you completely :)

Bad play and I also said that he was a headcase or had issues mentally.

The drug use answered a lot of questions and further validated me.

I'm not sure if we've had a QB since the 2000s that hasn't been a headcase in some way other than Casey.

Crompton and his family vs. the whole Vol fan base mentality surpasses anything Ainge ever showed.

And lol at claiming Ainge held back Schaeffer in any way. I still take an oxy'd up Ainge over the Crompdaddy any day.

Kiffin declined to discuss his place on the team with him. Cancelled multiple appointments, etc. Coleman ended up sitting outside his office and waiting. He had the best spring camp of any of the three QBs. But Kiffin thought that a rising sophomore winning the QB job in the spring would hurt recruiting, and he desperately wanted his own high-level QB recruit. So he lists Coleman 3rd on the post-Spring depth chart, cancels scheduled meetings with him, and drops hints thru third parties that if he doesn't like it he could leave. So he did. And Kiffin declined to give him a release. So he has to go to UTC.

I'm not arguing that Coleman should have stayed, would have been successful, etc., a game of ifs and buts benefits no one. Just pointing out one of Ras's "should have" arguments actually happened.

So, indirectly this is all Bray's fault? jk

I think that was my favorite part of the rant. Ainge playing in no way held Schaeffer back. He did that to himself by trying to beat up a guy with a wiffle ball bat in the lobby of Clement Hall.

On the field, Schaeffer couldn't even hang at Ole Miss. Come'on man.

It happened later than it should have. I'm focused on Ainge even being on campus in 2006 and you are here boasting about something in the spring of 2009. It was too late by then.

someone already said it - but its a commonly believed rumor that Ainge slept with TVA's girlfriend while at UT.

The 2006 season where Ainge was 3rd in the SEC in passing yards and 4th in TDs despite missing two games?

Or do you mean 2007 when he was 2nd in yards and 3rd in TDs and led us to the SEC Championship game?

How much better of a QB do you want?

By the way, the leading QB in the SEC in both of those categories was Andre Woodson of Kentucky. What did he ever win? Other than back-to-back Music City Bowls. Woooo.

That's one more bowl than Ainge ever won...

I think the pair of Eastern Division Championships make up for it. And he was a member of the 2004 team that won the Cotton Bowl, wouldn't have been there if he hadn't won the majority of our games that season. Not his fault his arm was in a sling for the bowl game.

Back to point: Ainge did really well on the show. It was probably best show Packer has ever had. Ainge had some real insight & said he didnt handle swapping time at QB vey well. He showed some maturing. Worth looking in the guide and watching the replay.

He didn't become the starter until the 3rd or 4th game of 2004. Plus, he got bailed out by Scheaffer in the South Carolina game. And, he got knocked out of the Notre Dame game. And he missed the last few games of the season and didn't even play in the 2004 SEC championship.

And no... bowl wins >>> SEC East "championships" (quotations around championships)

Yea guess we should of let crompton start sooner:thumbsup:

And we would have known what we had in 2006 vs 2008. Anybody could see Ainge was a choke artist and wasn't gonna win anything. We could have gotten the process started a lot sooner.

Not sure if serious...

If he's not being serious, he should be.

I know I'm going to regret this but, how?

Where you asleep for Ainge's tenure at UT?

On this topic, Ras puts Gibbs to shame. It's like he caught Ainge simultaneously slashing his tires, burning down his house and sleeping with his girlfriend.

I caught Ainge ruining our program, and getting playing time from Otis because of his famous last name. The reason I supported getting rid of Fulmer was because of Ainge.

Ainge most definitely set us back ten years. He was choker extraordinaire.

Ok, so did anyone watch the show? That is what this thread was originally about, you know. Ainge is going to be back next week, fwiw.
