I have not seen him play since the senior bowl. I just thought you guys might like watching him try to keep his spot on an NFL roster.

Early in camp, Erik Ainge has displayed better pocket presence and field vision than Kellen Clemens, but not matter what he does, Rex Ryan will not consider him for the stopgap job.

"I think that (Erik) Ainge is doing pretty decent," said Ryan. "He’s running with the threes and he knows the offense. But again, it’s just something that we’ve determined. It’s hard to give three guys a chance. Let’s just go ahead and let those two battle it out for that spot and let Erik battle it out for the third spot."
So even if Ainge performs better than Clemens this summer, he has no chance to compete for the "hold the fort" QB job? "I’m not going to say that is not a possibility but the competition (is between those two guys)," said Ryan.

Ainge was better than the options we have now, but I don't think he would of been good if it were not for Cutcliffe. I'd be shocked if he becomes anything more than a NFL third stringer.

And Ainge tossing away the SEC Champ. game is unfortunately, what stands out the most of his career here.

I don't think it's really bashing to point out facts. EA has almost zero shot at the 1st or 2nd string and will be shooting for 3rd.

Correct. To be honest, he could do a lot worse than being a 3rd string clipboard holder, particularly in this economy.

He put together some good drives in '04 against Florida when it mattered most, that's one of my favorite Ainge memories

So a statement of fact is belittling him. Lighten up Frances. If I wanted to belittle or bash him then him I might start a discussion about his 4 game suspension for the steroid policy violation.

I love EA...granted the last 5 min of the sec championship game vs LSU wasnt pretty, but still he served us well while he was here and i wish him the best. Its pathetic that rex ryan wont give him a chance
