Ainge has more tools at receiver than Woodson. And to say our offense was bad just against Fl and Bama is saying that we just didn't score against our 2 biggest conference rivals...

They went to the "pass every down" scheme or "take foster out b/c he is playing awesome" scheme. I do believe Kentucky has several draft picks at receiver this year (Burton, Tamme, Johnson) and Dicky Lyons next year.

He is hampered by both the coaches and his inabilty to make a play when it really counts.

Maybe not so much this year, but I do remember him throwing several touchdowns in a 17 point defecit last year versus Georgia, a comeback win against Bama, and South Carolina

The fact that Vinny Testaverde is starting this week for the Panthers tells me that the NFL could make room for Ainge.

Wasn't he pulled from some games early on. I just do not think he is mentally tough.imo

Ya, his sophmore year was horrible. I really credit Cutcliffe (who came in starting his junior yr) to reshaping Ainge. From friend I know that go to UT, said Ainge early one was this punk who was there more to party than to play ball or care about school. I think they straightened him out.

Oh boy. So you're calling winning a gane against a tean that went a full calendar year without a win over an SEC East opponent a big win? :eek:hmy:

Georgia is nowhere on par with Florida. And they are about even with Penn St and Bama 2007... at best.

Probably the weakest reach to defend Ainge I've heard yet. Congrats.

If you want to compare him to a 44 year old QB that needed for someone to get injured midseason in order for him to get on anybody's squad, go right ahead.

Your a bitter man. Coming back when ur down 17 to any SEC team is huge, espically on the road. Then they did it the next week versus South Carolina. Go crawl in a cave.

Eric Ainge is not that good and will never make a good NFL quarterback IMO. He doesn't appear to make great decisions. If we are comparing him to a Clausen, I think that tells you his odds.

See I feel the same way you do. It's not because I am a Gator because I never thought Doug Johnson would be a starter in the NFL either. I see Ainge going in the 3rd - 5th round in the NFL draft, riding the pine for the next 7-10 years. There is nothing wrong with that he will still be a millionare and get a great NFL pension. The Vol fans will get to see him in the NFL preseason games and maybe an NFL game one day.imo

What bad decisions has Ainge made this year? He's thrown 4 ints in 256 attempts (as compared to 13 TDs,) and he completes 2/3 of his passes.

Guess at his pro potential all you want--I personally think that there is enough there that someone will give him a shot, and with his ability, it is then up to him--but the kid has done a good job at UT for the last two seasons.

yeah I kind of think Ainge might be closer to Leaf then Manning.

Leaf had a good arm just couldnt make the right decisions and play well under pressure. Seems to describe Ainge at times. But Leaf had a phenomenal college career.

UT got spoiled with C Clausen here. Used to seeing QB's stage 4th quarter comebacks. Ainge hasn't been good late in the game when UT has to score to stay in it.

I think Ainge will get drafted around the 5th round. He's been too injury prone to go to risk a higher pick. I think he'll be projected 2nd or 3rd but end going 5th round. He's been injured every year he's been at UT.

can anyone tell me why ainge is not in the heisman discussion? he is the passing leader in the sec and has the stats to compete with any qb in the nation. he plays in the sec so if you was to put him in any other conferance he would dominate. all the other qbs mentioned in the heisman race play weak schedules and rack up stats. i know tennessee isnt having the greatest year but he cant do it all himself. i was just wondering if i was the only one who felt this way?

He's not a winner.

I'm talking about throwing it away on 4th down, throwing for 3 when you need 6, throwing it for 5 when you need 10. The guy doesn't get you beat alot....I agree with that, but he doesn't come back and beat you with his arm/smarts alot either IMO. His decisions to check to the short route come to soon and too often and I think that is not great decision making. Just my .02, doesn't have to be yours.

Can we please stop with this? The snap was basically rolled back to him and the play was blown up before it started. It was either throw it away or take a 10-15 yard sack.

GAVol.....I know Ainge has good stats but he doesn't find ways to win.....hence he is not a leader!! I have never seen him sacrifice anything to get an inch......it is either handed to him or he crumbles under pressure!!
