ainge for heisman??

can anyone tell me why ainge is not in the heisman discussion? he is the passing leader in the sec and has the stats to compete with any qb in the nation. he plays in the sec so if you was to put him in any other conferance he would dominate. all the other qbs mentioned in the heisman race play weak schedules and rack up stats. i know tennessee isnt having the greatest year but he cant do it all himself. i was just wondering if i was the only one who felt this way?

I think this must be a joke......Heisman and Ainge never crossed my mind:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:

Can we please stop with this? The snap was basically rolled back to him and the play was blown up before it started. It was either throw it away or take a 10-15 yard sack.
The other option would have been to throw it up for grabs to allow one of our guys to make a play on it. If it's intercepted, what is the worst that could have happened? They run it back for a pick 6? :ermm: At that point, what difference would it have made to turn it over... at least you would have gone down swinging, instead of throwing it away to prevent a turnover? :hmm:

It was one frickin' play. I would imagine that the snap rolling along the ground had something to do with Ainge losing some awareness. He likely went into reaction mode and did what he's coached to do when improvising and evading large humans trying to maul him.

I've never seen Ainge improvise... well, I take that back. :ermm: I have seen him improvise before and it resulted in a touchdown... for LSU.

I'm no Ainge lackey, but your opinions of him are undeservedly low. Had he continued his sophomore debacle to current, I might agree, but he is a good QB. He hasn't been great this year, but is a good QB. I think he lacks massively in leadership and fire, but that doesn't diminish his physical skills or play.

He should have chucked it up for some form of hope instead of giving up but ok......I'll let that play go. It's the throwing it too short for a first on 3rd down that makes me go...HUH??? It just happens too darn often....we need to get back and work like heck on measuring, lol.:p

I couldn't disagree more. I think if there is anything this team (or I should say program) lacks is leadership and fire. Leadership and fire in the huddle when momentum has swung against us, leadership and fire on the sidelines, and some kind of fire or spark to energize the fans and give us something to be excited about. Right now, we have none of that, and if things continue, we could very easily finish up the season with 2-3 more losses.

I think a strong arm and the skills that Cutty have polished on Ainge are good (not great, just good), but he just doesn't bring anything extra to the table.

I am a Dolphins fan, and I think if Ainge started for them on Sunday he would have a better shot at winning than Cleo Lemon does for the Dolphins :p

If that is your best defense of Ainge (that he could beat out Lemon), then that shows how much of a QB Ainge is.

And no way the Dolphins take a chance on an injury proned Ainge when most of their last first round picks (Ronnie Brown and Jason Allen) have injury issues.

Im just saying he will have his shot in the NFL. Jason Allen just sucks, I predict he will be on the practice squad by next season if he dont step his game up.

The fault for that lies in the playcalling IMO.

Ainge has been far from perfect, but he's the least of our worries right now

Throw it short and let the WRs make plays after the catch...
It worked with Meachem and Swain last year, this year not so much
this year, we run the ball well enough that the safeties are definitely leaning toward the line on 1st and 2nd downs, but we do nothing to take advantage of it.

I don't know if it's the playcalling, the route running, or whatever....I do know there are other options on most of these plays and Ainge chooses where the ball goes. I can't imagine Cut or any other OC calling a 5 yard pass when you need 7. Now, as far as run/pass goes, that would be the playcalling....

that's just poor route running.

Route Running ties directly into coaching

that's why we're working like heck on our measuring!!! If we can coach the difference between 2 & 4 yards just think, next week we can work like heck on learning the difference in 3 & 6!!!!!

Maybe O'Neal's problems aren't necessarily by his own doing by this theory?

:beerf::beerf::beerf::beerf: If it wasnt for a couple of broken fingers Ainge & the vols would be undefeated and Ainge would be a Feisman hinalist.

Seriously does he still have a broken finger?
