some of ya'll are way too sensitive. I feel certain Coach Pruitt was under more pressure than is normal for him. My guess is his press conferences performances will improve over time. He'll likely never be the pirates equal (alas) but games and championships are rarely won behind the podium.

the cornball sayings were being used in a specific way with a specific intent. I realize some of you will never understand that. However it was purposeful.

Aight about 30 times in 5 minutes is simply an unpolished public speaker. Not that it matters but even the simpletons should be able to understand one was intentional and the other was a nervous tic/habit.

To be honest though winning the press conference doesn't mean squat. Winning on the field is all that matters. If he impresses the mama's and the players, puts together great game plans, has the boys ready to play come game day and can make good in game adjustments, who gives a crap if he sounds like Mel Tillis.

I hope he wins and wish i were as excited as others. But I'm on board and will continue to support the Big Orange.

Yeah, but he can't get on the field right now. All he can do right now is assemble staff, win over fans, and most all, recruit his a** off, all of which requires communication. :clap:

What he was saying is that some of the coaching staffs at FSU, Georgia, and Alabama have worked on the staff of the other because Pruitt has worked at all three. That's the way I heard.

I don't give a flying j what a coach sounds like if he can win and keep the program clean. However, if anyone listened to more than 60 seconds of that press conference and didn't cringe at the multiple uses of "aight" wasn't paying attention.

I'm sure Coach Pruitt will improve but some of you are waaaayyyyy to sensitive.

He looked and acted like a deer in the headlights in front of a handful of cameras and friendly supporters. Can't wait to see what he does when 102,000 people are screaming at him. This is a travesty folks. Take off your orange tinted glasses. Its just another dooley/jones retread. Also, who in the blue hell is our new OC? He doesn't have a wikipedia page and google turns up very little. A first time, defensive oriented headcoach who cant even handle the pressure of a press conference, paired with an OC you can't even google. Do you guys not see how SCREWED we are?

Absolute best statement in the entire news conference. He was emphatic. I also think his refusal to look backward, to not even discuss past UT games with Bama, says a lot about his focus. He is smart, tough, and loyal to his players. He will make an outstanding coach.

I think you're being a little overboard in giving up already but it appears there are a lot of early quitters on this forum.

I'm not excited about the hire but to make a statement that we're screwed because he didn't nail a press conference is a little bit idiotic.

If some of ya'll would simply work everyday for a few minutes on seeing the positive in something the first time you became aware of it your life and the life of those around you would improve dramatically.

Plus i wouldn't have to read ridiculous posts like yours. And really, ain't that what it's all about? :)

Great post! And so enjoyed the "I chose to be here!" reply. CJP will make us proud I do believe. He has nothing but the upmost belief that these student athletes have to be coached in ALL aspects to be successful on the field, in the classroom, and ultimately in life. I think not only do we have a football coach but a teacher of life for these young men.

My son plays for Coach Mike Turk at Huntingdon (DivIII)
and he absolutely loves the man. The main reason is he coaches with the same principles as CJP mentioned in his presser. He molds these young men into not only good student athletes but into men. Having said that, I'm 115% in.
