Aiden Chiles

He would be a good back up that could be serviceable as a starter. He is the exact type of player you could best hope for. I think people are missing the fact that he still has a redshirt year to burn and would be fine in a role where he could get paid as a backup for a year.

With Chiles, It's either start at a G5 school at best for one year or cash in as a backup for a year at a top school. Maybe fill in for a few games if necessary, and then weigh your options again after the season.

Considering we have two 4/5 star freshman next season, it would be negligent to those guys to go out and pay a premium for an experienced starter. By paying, you are almost tieing yourself to starting that player. So getting an experienced player who is fine playing backup is the way to go. It gives us a chance to play G-Mac as starter. Then work in Faizon a few games, but still preserving themergency if needed. And playing Chiles in case of energency.

"For the 2025 Michigan State season, QB Aidan Chiles played through Week 9, finishing with 1,392 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, a 68.6 QBR, but was then benched and entered the transfer portal in December 2025.
Here's a breakdown of his reported stats before being benched:

  • Passing Yards: 1,392
  • Touchdowns (TDs): 10
  • Interceptions (INTs): 3
  • QBR: 68.6 (ranked 40th)
Key Context:
  • Chiles transferred to MSU from Oregon State and was the starting QB for much of the 2025 season.
  • He was benched after the Week 9 loss to Michigan and didn't play again.
  • He entered the transfer portal in mid-December 2025, ending his time with the Spartans."
Yep! That's what we need, a QB that was benched after their los
