Ah, the volnation I know and love..

Ok. Let's say all you slash and burn whores get your way. Let's say enough of you football challenged minds get together and Butch jones is fired. The recruiting class falls apart and goes elsewhere. No coach in their right mind would come here after what we did to a guy with two top 5 recruiting classes . No one would respect the program because you only gave CBJ 2 years to put out the dumpster fire that was UT. We would be lucky to get coach John Boy Dowe from single A high school in Delaware at that point. I sure hope you 'hate' whores don't get your way.
I think most people just want to see the offensive staff do something anything to provide a spark.

I want to see that too. But firing is out of the question. We would be back to 5 years away again if we do that. I'm tired of saying next year already. Now I actually think we are close.

Change doesn't necessarily have to come at the HC level. With the way this season is playing out, do you feel the OC or the OL coach should be completely safe? Maybe Butch needs to reevaluate his staff and make adjustments. Sometimes a HC places loyalty to his staff above what's best for the team. Butch needs to make sure he doesn't do that, because if he does, it could ultimately cost him his job. Not this year, but down the road.

After a loss like this, you always have your fans on the ledge, the fans that were unrealistic in the beginning, numerous troll threads just to get the true fans pissed, the pseudo fans that could careless, and the realists that try to calm everyone. One thing you get out of a moment like this is you can tell which ones are which. I always try to mark the ones that are trolls in this situation. They usually are quite obvious.

I know the trolls right away...they are the ones on my ignore list, and a game like this allows me to add to that list.

That's the problem with your dribble. Guys like you start the "fire CBJ crap and no one has said that that i have even seen here. If you can see the offense is a problem beyond just the oline that's a you problem not the rest of us. but hey keep throwing out the bs to get those likes! While we are at it maybe you guys tell us again how Dooley needs one more year.

If you not looking to improve you getting further behind and that includes staff.

I don't think we should or are going to fire him this year. And my expectations for him were never high. But he has to at least show improvement in the offense, marked improvement, or get rid of Bajakian and Mahoney, and divorce his scheme if he wants to make it past next year. Because if he stays the course and we don't get to a bowl next year then the recruiting will fall off and the results won't be there either. And then it's back to square one.

You hide and watch, pal. If we end this season with one conference win or less, CBJ's seat will be hotter than Hades

.....but not in the opinion of anyone who has any bearing on the decision making process.

You need to realize that those who want a coaching change are in a very small minority.
There aren't many prefer another coaching change. It's just more financial burden on the entire school, and with the administrations history, they'd just go to the bargain bin once more. I'd prefer that Butch Jones stop blaming us for not seeing the process and start looking inward to find out why this offense is historically inept. Because he's only doing things in a very stubborn way and not only is there no progress, not only are we fighting uphill battles, we're losing them and going backwards.

I haven't really seen posts advocating firing Butch. I've seen a lot of posts expressing disappointment with various components of the program and I've seen (and made) posts debating what is the appropriate point in time when people think a firing decision is possible if we're not winning more games. We're all fundamentally unified by the desire to win. We all want the current players and staff to win. We all want the winning to start sooner rather than later.

The issues at hand are fairly obvious so perhaps Coach Jones is giving too much credit to the fan base thinking fans understand football and not just who can we blame.

Agreed. We are at a unique time in our history. The SEC has gone from strong to dominant. Schools are finding talented coaches and recruiting is lights out for about 8 or 9 schools. And is really sux to rebuild only to have our foundations ripped out when a new plan and coach come on the scene. Other traditional power schools are having similar issues; Michigan, USC, Texas, Notre Dame (until recently). It isn't as easy as it once was...and it never was really that easy to begin with.

Wow....a voice of reason in the mist. How refreshing.:):hi:

Sums it up pretty well.

Right now. Let's say we finish this year 5-7. What if we finish 5-7 again next year? Do you still think it would be a minority? I don't. If his first three seasons are all losing seasons, then I could definitely see myself and others joining the current "Fire Butch" minority, and it increasing into a majority. We all want improvement. To play the "true" fan card some seem to enjoy playing, wouldn't any "true" fan expect to see their team improving?

The issues are fairly obvious. What some want is for Butch to acknowledge the issues and address them. Some of the coaches in our recent past had a tendency to pretend problems didn't exist when they clearly did. Failure to acknowledge those problems led to failure of addressing them. That, in part, is why we are where we are today.

if we were all like you, we'd still have dooley...quit pumpin sunshine and look around you, do you see any progress on offense?

Butch will be for 4 years.. The university can't afford to pay another coaching staff that isn't here, but I don't think we're really gonna see progress like everyone wants until year 4, when these sophomores and freshmen are Jr's and sr's. That's just the cold hard facts. Everybody pretty much recruits lights out in the SEC, we've just started to, and another thing, I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need a true dual threat QB to run this offense, you need to put pressure on the defense, with this scheme. have a pocket passer doesn't cut it and won't and hasn't so far..and Jones might need to shake up the offensive staff.. just my thoughts
