Aguilar’s arm strength

He’s just coached well. No he doesn’t have as strong of an arm as Nico or Joe (obviously, no one does lol) but it’s just better to under throw than overthrow.
Agreed. Not sure what the media’s obsession is with arm strength. It just leads to unfair expectations. See DJ Lagway and Lannoris Sellers as the most recent examples. There’s a long list of great collegiate QBs who didn’t have great arm strength. Matt Leinart, Kellen Moore, Ken Dorsey, Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, Sam Hartman, etc

It may have been discussed but I have not read anything related to his arm strength. Compared to our previous three QB’s, does he have the strength? The past two games, he has under thrown receivers on the deep ball. Fortunately, they were both caught for TD’s.

This one it seemed he put extra touch on it maybe detracting from length of throw. Is 50 air yards his best?
I've seen multiple times this year where he's thrown the ball WAY too hard. In fact it caused his intercept today. I think the under throwing is coming from coaches telling him to put air under the ball and let the receivers go get it. unlike Milton where he threw the ball 10 yards past our fastest WR on a regular basis.

He floats deep balls and they come up short. So far our receivers have made plays on those wonky passes. He looks plenty sharp on those short and mid passes. He's going to cost us a game with those floaters. Still better than Nico.

He throws a very good deep ball and completes them at a high clip… a little under throw on 1 on 1 deep coverage with tons of air under it is not bad and he also puts some on the money… can’t believe fans who watched over 100 over throws in 2 years complain about a guy completing deep passes… relax and trust Joey and heup..

I’ve also noticed he throws high on some passes/plays. Is that taught?
Caused two int’s today.
Wow! Throwing TDs all over the place and we are asking about arm strength?
Wow! Throwing int’s today and talking about high throws.
You done?
Lol-I’m setting myself up for some more ribbing!
Come again?

You see that TD?
You see these two int’s from high throws today?
Under throws are not all bad, WR still has a chance and creates a jump ball a lot. Over throws though like we have had are killers
Again today. Saw a Tok where Kelly down at LSU was jumping all over his WR for unnecessary jumping for catches.
He’s arguably the best QB in the country. Some people will never be happy.
Still have that opinion?

Is he just throwing too hard when he’s throwing high and that’s what’s causing the WR’s to tip?

Brazzle just saved us on that 4th.

This is such an ahole post and during a drive with 2min left. You suck. Truly

What's with the "but negative" threads today?

We're beating Georgia, possibly the most talent-stocked team in the SEC, 21-7 at the end of the first stanza. And people want to question Joey's arm?

We need a Fan Development Course, Freak.

Go Vols!
Most would have to repeat the course..

You guys drive me nuts. Just be happy with a damn road win! Aguilar is the reason we won this game. Truth is, Matthews doesn't drop that perfect deep ball and Brazzell doesn't get that BS PI call, he throws for over 450 yds.
I completely agree with both assessments. On the reply of that deep pass, it looked like the WR may have slightly misjudged where the ball was going to land. Most don’t know just how difficult it is to catch that. It’s not like one that’s hitting the WR in stride. The PI was a bad call but in real time, the way the DB fell, it looked as if he had been pushed. Was it an acting job?

All you ever do is spew negativity towards posters and try to draw people into arguments. Other than being a mod to the site, I have never seen you add anything to the site.
When you post trash you'll get a trash response. Your post talking bad about our QB with 2min left in the game was just trash. Own it

Owning it has nothing to do with it. Making a post about arm strength with 2 minutes left has nothing to do with it.

You are nothing short of an overt narcissist who utilizes these forums and the posters on here to feed on as your source. Again, you add nothing to this site, even as a mod. This will be my last response to you as I am going no contact with you.

Dropped one in the bucket for MM, he just didn't adjust well to the ball and another bomb to Brazell.

Wasn’t an under throw great defensive play and if heup didn’t coach scared Joey would’ve won it for us in regulation…
It was a good defensive play but was a slight under throw. Not an under throw due to lack of arm strength though.

The rainbow probably contributed to Matthews dropping his for sure TD since it hung up there so long. Lost concentration. Still gotta catch that though.
