Aggies Fans

I was sitting with a lot of UT folks but the Aggies that were around us were friendly enough. Regardless of my many cracks about the brush poppers, I have found Texans to be pretty friendly so I was less surprised by the welcome than maybe some of the people from out of state. I told the ones I spoke with at the student center and Northgate that we were happy to have them as a member of the SEC and equally happy that Texas didn't make the cut. The Ags are quite proud to be a part of the SEC and it seemed to me that they all bent over backwards to make us welcome.

It is upon Tennessee to return the favor when they come up next fall. It would be really nice for Tennessee to have a special relationship with a quality competitor such as TAMU.

They don't visit Knoxville for 5 years.

I just want to give a public shoutout to the Aggies fans. I have never come across such a nice fanbase.

I was constantly offered good fortune, hopes of a good clean game, beer, liquor, food, handshakes, and high-fives.

Post-game, they were even more classy. Congratulated us on a good game, and pretty much every one said we gave them the game via turnovers.

When they come to Knoxville, we need to reciprocate the hospitality.

I said the exact same thing on my Facebook page. Texas A&M's fan truly care what people think of them.

One asked me and my wife if everyone was treating us well? I said absolutely, I'm amazed. He said, "We are not LSU!"

Missed the game due to Matthew. Still bummed. My brother and dad who now live in Conroe went. Gave my ticket to an Aggie friend of theirs. Nothing but good feedback from them on the day, fans and stadium.

I'm glad the Tn fans were treated well and had a good time. Was sure they would but good to hear them say so. I've been around Aggie football for more than 40 years and it's always been that way.

I've been around Tn football for about 20 years and always liked the game day experience there too. Aggies will love it when they do get the chance to go. When we lived in Knoxville we walked the strip from Alcoa Hwy bridge to the games and loved the hospitality. No way to consume all the food and beer that was shared with my family and me.

But- hosting LSU and Florida fans at Kyle Field has been another story. LSU fans can be bad but the worst we experienced were from Florida.

The consensus opinion it seems. Big fan of your fans now. Won't take much for me to go back to Kyle Field.

I found them to be all odd and overly friendly. Reminded me of old news clips of Nazi Germany in the 30s

Naa.. We just feel that you shouldn't have piss balloons and batteries tossed at you at the other team's stadium. We all want to enjoy the tailgate and game, and hope to experience the same at other schools. We take pride in doing it right.

I never want college football to turn into (insert pro team fans that suck.)

As for the cult.. We just embrace all traditions and go all out to hold on to them. Some are hold overs from being an all male senior millitary college, but they are still great. It keeps us all together.

Believe us, Florida fans are pure classless trash.

That's really good to hear, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama fans could take some lessons. Horrible fan bases, especially Florida and Georgia.

GA is about the worst or the worst. Just a bunch of frat boy pricks ( no offence to the frat guys on here).

Keep them, it makes you guys different. I truly enjoyed myself as did my wife and all the vols we tailgate with.

A&M was a great addition to the SEC. Missouri on the other hand, I have no idea why they're here except for TV markets.

Glad that Tennessee fans were treated so well, as Aggies we truly take pride in how our visitors experience Aggieland and go out of our way to be good hosts. I'll be pulling for Tennessee today and the rest of the season (until the Championship game) if we're fortunate enough to meet again.

If A&M had not injured almost half of our starting team, we would have had a much increased chance of beating Alabama. Of course, we would have likely beaten A&M last Saturday, so they have to live with what we do this afternoon.

We're talking about Aggie fans and their hospitality. They don't "have to live" with anything. Leave the injury conspiracy crap to Dawg fans.

I was at the Florida game in Gainesville in '01 and had the same experience. We upset them at home, but still everyone there was incredibly welcoming.
